Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church

The church is beautifully maintained by the priest, and the greenery around the church enhances the feeling of being closer to nature. When the mood strikes them, certain individuals vandalize the property and run harassment campaigns, which forces the church goers to work even harder to keep the property at their highest standards.

I am so grateful for the peaceful and friendly atmosphere that the priest of this church maintains by guiding people, praying for them and with them. He unites believers not just on Sundays, but in a daily life as well, as he organizes many trips and activities so that people can get together, know each other and make friends.Do not judge this church by reading all the negative comments.Come for a service, have a cup of tea after, and you will feel the love and care of everyone here.

I have to say after reading all the negative reviews, that they were written by NON - Christian Orthodox People. I am a Christian Orthodox who attends regular services at this church. The Father is very humble, nice and kind. He has a beautiful family and is very respected among the Christian Orthodox community. I feel very sad that people who have nothing to do with our church /community write reviews like that.I am wishing to all of them to discover our true GOD.John 15:21But they will treat you like this on account of My name, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

The priest is very nice and generous he did a lot for this church and communityand the church is so nice

If you love Jesus Christ and looking for a place where you can get real guidance and get closer to the Lord, this is the place to come to.P.S with all respect, if you're Unorthodox Christian, please keep your envy and hateful comments away from the holy place. Bells every once in a while or daily is understandable, as I'm sure they are for service. But the hundred different, 5 minute long bell ringing is so excessive. It's loud, obnoxious, and happens at random times throughout the day and WELL into the evening. What is it for? Where is the decency for your neighbours, who have other things going on in their homes or who would like a little quiet at 10PM? Pets startled awake? Babies in homes? The ringing at noon makes sense. The rest is bizarre and doesn't have structured timing.

For people who have left hateful comments below I send lots of love your way and this is why!I’m really sorry to see that you have so much hate in your heart for something you know nothing about for a person you truly dont know. Honestly if you did you would be embarrassed to utter such hate. It must be hard to live in such sorrow, anger and bitterness for that I sympathize.Hate comes from a very low place, a cry for help. It come in many shapes and sizes and I guess all you want is just to be heard? Well we hear you and we send love!Again sorry that you feel this way and maybe after reading the rest of the comment you will feel a little better.People who go to church don’t go out of their way reading reviews nor writing them. People are there on a much deeper level than you will ever be able to understand but I hope you do one day. So by writing something on here won’t stop the people going you silly goose!We turn on the news and we see hate tares people apart, it creates wars, kills, separates and destroysLove does the opposite it unites and brings people together. This is exactly the reason why people go to church is to find love and to believe I’m greatness that is missing in today world. If that upsets you than again then all I can say is sorry and I hope you find your love somewhere too because it feels like it’s missing, could be anything and it’s different for many!We just saw the heartbreak and lives lost in New Zeland, when people come together for love don’t be the reason to tare it apart. Don't be fooled with the priest! There is absolutely no hatered about religion or the church at all. There are several churches in the neighborhood and they are being loved and respected. It is not about the church or the belief. They are amazing and we'll respected. The complain is about the priest that is running this particular church. He is a sick and mentally unstable individua. He is a real abuser of his position. He enjoys bothering people. No one in the neighborhood is happy with this sick man. Just talk to people to see for yourself. One of the top missions of the church is to spread love. Why the priest of this church is full of hate and why he bothers everyone in the neighborhood? Why do you let someone like thistguy th steal the trust of the pure souls who get together for practicing something beautiful? Instead of playing innocent, why don't you talk to this man to start behaving, or just kick him out and bring a real humble human being to serve in the church? So many have stopped going to the church because of this unbalanced guy. He should not hijack this place of worship!

Great place, wonderful priest, valuable and rare iconography, family-oriented programs and peaceful and friendly staff. This is one of the Christian gems of Vancouver! Highly recommended.
