Design By Angela

Angela claimed she would act as a general contractor but she let our kitchen reno languish until we dropped her. Her help with design was okay but she never ensured an accurate plan with all details was in place. Some of the issues were out of her control, and we took time to make decisions. But our project seemed too small to focus on.

We hired Angela hoping to get some advice to help us refresh our 20 year old home. We were prepared to do a lot of the work ourselves, but lacked imagination when it came to colour and design details. It took us a few months (Thanks, covid!) to put her suggestions into action and we are so happy that we did. Angela has a real eye for colour. The wall, trim, flooring and kitchen cabinet colours that she chose had a striking result and literally made us fall in love" with our home again. She worked with the furniture that we had and made practical suggestions for additions and arrangements. The contractors that she suggested were also impressive. And

Angela designed and managed our house renovations in August and September 2020, before we moved to Kingston. We were not able to be present on site during these renovations and were nervous that the project stayed on time. Angela was exceptional. She provided excellent advice on flooring, paint colours and our new kitchen. She also suggested knocking back the hallway cupboard to create an open space which we love. Angela worked with excellent craftsmen and contractor which meant that the renovations were mostly done by the time we moved in. Angela sent us emails and texts with photos almost daily during the renovations. COVID meant that our kitchen arrival was delayed, however it was installed the very next day. Angela did all the shopping for the smaller items and her attention to detail was wonderful.Overall, Angela exceeded our expectations. We would not have been able to upgrade our new house without her. She took on the difficult jobs of staying on top of the kitchen company and coordinating the different workmen. The pandemic did not make this easy for her. She removed our worry and allowed us to focus on moving. We thought her fees were very reasonable. Angela is very professional and she is a true pleasure to work with.

I am a return client of Angela’s for very good reason. We love her great design ideas, and easygoing, pragmatic approach to our projects. Angela is always a pleasure to work with and we always love the rooms that she applies her magic to. You can have utmost confidence that Angela can handle your project, add value and beauty to your home and be a pleasure to deal with during the process. This bathroom was a complete rip out and we greatly appreciate her vision and guidance as it is exactly what we were hoping for and more.

My wife and I recently purchased our first home, most of which had the original design from the 1960s. We hired Angela’s Design Consulting Services to manage the design and remodelling, as she was recommended to us by a trusted colleague and friend who Angela had done work for in the past. Angela is so much more than a designer/decorator, though her finishing touches on our design were so thoughtful (blowing up our travel pics and dog pics and placing them throughout the house in lovely designs. I've attached pictures, but they really don't do the remodel justice.She managed the entire project from beginning to end, including: designing the layout of the entire top floor (bedrooms/bathroom/kitchen/living room/dining room), extending our basement bathroom to include a shower, adding a bar, and having our giant maple tree trimmed, our fence extended, our plumbing and electric updated, and managing a flood in the basement due to tree roots + having our pipes rerouted. There’s probably more that I have forgotten as well. She also managed to do this all in about 6 weeks and within a very reasonable budget, whereas I couldn’t even get the time of day from contractors so close to Christmas. Her contractors/team are highly professional, competent, friendly and do good work.I know that we weren’t always easy to deal with and we often texted Angela late at night or early in the morning. Angela maintained a high degree of professionalism and was so friendly and accommodating throughout. I have heard horror stories of renovations that have gone very wrong, went way over budget, or way over the allotted time limit. We are so thankful to have chosen Angela to take care of our house from planning and design stage through to aftercare and follow up. We are already planning/ re: “dreaming” of what we can hire her for next (change a bedroom to ensuite bathroom, etc.) Angela literally knocked down walls to transform our house from a 1960s bungalow to a modern show home that we can host dinner parties at. We’re absolutely thrilled with the outcome and have a home we can be proud of for years to come.Thank you!

We are extremely happy with the design consultation services provided by Design by Angela. We wanted our en-suite fully renovated and she made every step of project easy. Angela arrived for our in-home consultation prepared and after talking with us and seeing our home was quickly able to show us pictures of the design components that she recommended for our space on the spot. We were not overwhelmed with having too many options to choose from for things like fixtures, tile, paint, and hardware. Angela was able to obtain very high quality materials within a very reasonable budget. Her ballpark quote from our first meeting was almost spot on to the final project total. There were no surprises.It was a relief to us that Angela was able to recommend and oversee trusted professional contractors to do the work. Angela was very hands on. She sent us pictures of the progress each day while we were at work and communicated the work plan with us. Angela was very available for any questions and provided timely and satisfactory responses.We ABSOLUTELY love everything that Angela chose and how it all came together perfectly. We would not change one thing about the design. I am convinced we would not be as satisfied had we designed the space ourselves. We will certainly be contacting Angela for our next home renovation project.

Angela was phenomenal! We asked her to come in for a consult and decided to hire her for the project. She helped redesign and decorate our living room, dining room/kitchen area. Her contractors were amazing, such meticulous work! Angela helped with the project until completion. Her ideas were so awesome it made us like our house again and we decided to stop looking to move! I hired Angela and her team to do an entire house redo for me in Kingston when I was living in Alberta.Angela exceeded my expectations in every way as a design consultant. First, I want to point out her talent and skill set including the room design skills, colour coordination and eclectic style that I had requested; her in-depth knowledge of renovations and her capable team of tradespeople to do the work; her ability to be as cost effective as possible without cutting corners or quality of work; careful management of the entire project budget and very precise with itemizing the work to to be done and associated costs. Angela delivered on everything she had proposed. When unforeseen issues arose or compromises had to be made, Angela always found a solution that in the end was even better.I also want to point out other qualities that Angela possesses that I believe were above and beyond any professional association I've had in the past. Having my entire house renovated and decorated from another province was extremely stressful for me. So it was a tremendous relief when Angela assured me she would be on site during the entire process and then she checked the house daily before I arrived, ensuring that everything was clean and inviting when I arrived. For me, this demonstrates a remarkable work ethic in truly caring for her clients and the love and pride she take in her work. I cannot say enough about how awesome it was having Angela lead this project. I will happily use her services again and I highly recommend her and her team.

Angela did an amazing job! We are getting our house ready for sale and the house needed some work. Angela helped us choose renovations that would add the most value to the house and appeal to buyers. She came shopping with us, helped us to get things at lower costs, and was available by text or call when ever we had questions or needed advice. We love what she did and definitely recommend her!
