Ironwood Optometry Clinic

I came here in 2021 to do an eye exam. The optometrist was very nice and professional. However I asked about a problem with my contact lenses, and was told my eye seems to be in good health and had no idea what the issue was. So I continue to use my contacts. Fast forward to 2023, I do another eye exam at a different location, and find that my cornea is all scratched up due to the contacts. If I had known I would have stopped using the contacts!!!! I'm not sure if theres permanent damage at this point.

My experience at Ironwood Optometry was exceptional. I felt safe as the staff followed strict protocol during this pandemic. Dr Kim is very knowledgeable and suggested different options for my busy lifestyle. As my vision has been getting more ‘complicated,’ I can finally see well near and far, without headaches. His office staff were also kind and patient and helped me choose the right frames. The range of frame selection is excellent, without being too overwhelming. I just love my new contacts and glasses. My children, husband and father-in-law have now all switched to Ironwood Optometry and we highly recommend it. Thank you Dr Kim and the staff at Ironwood Optometry!

AMAZING! The staff was welcoming, helpful and so friendly! Dr. Kim was absolutely amazing with my 8 year old, guiding him through his first eye exam and taking the time to thoroughly explain everything to us. The facility is very clean and the staff took extra precautions to clean the equipment before my son used it. We opted for the additional screening of the eye, which Dr. Kim took the time to review in detail. I highly recommend Dr. Kim and Ironwood Optometry.

Dr. Kim and his staff are truly a delight. The clinic is so nice and clean with the latest frames. As someone who had been wearing glasses for what seems like forever it's nice to know I have stylish options. Dr. Kim is always patient with me while I decide which one is better

Visited this optometry clinic for the first time ever and was blown away by my exceptionally positive experience there. Dr. Joanne Chan is such a positive and personable doctor while demonstrating her professionalism and knowledge, she's able to crack a joke and entertain a conversation as well. Hands down the best eye doctor and clinic experience I've ever had. I have definitely made the switch to this clinic, it's by far the best in Richmond. I would highly reccomend this doctor to anyone who values their eye care and is not 100% satisfied with their current care, Dr. Chan will go above and beyond for you.

I was shopping for new eye glasses and had a great experience with the optometrist, but when it can time to purchase the lens and glasses the sale staff was very bad. The lens were expensive. They offered me a 2% discount and said I was welcome to go somewhere else. I found the same brand of lens at another shop for $160 dollars cheaper. I do not recommend this shop for purchasing. Eye exam was great. But not the sales staff.

My husband and I have been patients here for approx. 3 years (previously with a Vancouver optometrist for 35+ years until he retired). We have found the service at this clinic to be exceptional from the minute we walk in the door. The staff are very kind, helpful and cheerful. They always greet us with a friendly, positive attitude It's so nice to enter an office and see smiling faces and feel welcomed.Dr. Kim is a kind and very knowledgeable doctor. He does a thorough exam and is so patient with answering questions during and after the exam. He even asks if we have any more questions, so we never feel rushed nor are our concerns ever dismissed.We took advantage of the new digital retina imaging test and were very impressed with how it works. Insurance does not pay the cost yet but the exam is worth every penny as it gives so much more helpful information for the doctor and patient than the eye drop test - plus, no blurry eyes for hours afterwards!When it's time to choose new glasses, frames, etc. the staff are very experienced at helping make good choices that will be the most benefit to us and never try to upsell or pressure us into making a purchase. I used to feel rushed at the previous clinic but here I can take my time, waffle back and forth, etc. and no one shows any impatience.I can honestly say that we look forward to our eye exams every year now. At the previous clinic, it was something we had to do to keep up with our eye health but there was no connection with the staff at all and we felt like just another number, but at Ironwood Optometry we feel welcomed and enjoy every minute of our appointment. So a big thank you to Dr. Kim and his incredible staff for making an eye exam seem like something to look forward to!

I purchased a pair of sunglasses here a few years back and returned recently because part of the frame broke. One of the staff members, Lisa" went above and beyond to have this repaired. I was pleasantly surprised with her assistance and wanted to express my appreciation for such an exceptional employee.Thank you Lisa for making my day!"

This is a great Optometry Clinic.Dr. Kim is informative and efficient and a great doctor.The front staff are just as amazing.Lots of good frames to choose from.
