Stitch It Clothing Alterations & Dry Cleaning

Dropped off coat which is brand-new with tags on Friday, was advised pick-up on Tuesday, asked for coat to be shortened, sleeves taken in and a loose front panel to be stitched/sewn in. Total price was approx $125 which included $69 for shortening the coat and $45 for the additional alterations. Which is fair. Was asked to return on Monday to confirm the length of the coat and the stitch pattern at the bottom of the coat. No one was in line but I had wait approx. 5 to 7 minutes for this service as the manager was on the phone, and the rep at the desk lacked iniative to further investigate or understand the issue. At this point, I just wanted my coat completed, so I made a quick decision which I'm regretting now but I acknowledge I should have asked more questions to understand the pattern of the stitch at the bottom of the coat... that it'd be a panel as opposed to a seamless look.The workmanship is satisfactory, so I can recommend their services. However, the coat is brand new, still never worn and now a few days after pick-up, there is still this lingering scent that wasn't there prior to dropping it off and now I have to exert additional energy to figure out how to remove this scent. This business interaction created additional labour for me, so I've rated this interaction a 3. If you have sensitivity to scents, I suggest picking up sooner rather than later as I picked it up a day after it was ready.

I'd been wavering on repairing the ripped pockets on my winter coat for weeks -- it's not an item I could just drop and return for another day! But every time I put it on, I was mad at the thought of having to wait til winter was over to get it fully usable and presentable again.I walked into Stitch-It on a day when I had an hour or two of errands to run inside STC. The person running the counter let me know she was working on some orders and also needed to tend the front counter, but thought she could get it done with a reasonable wait time. Once she realized that I had errands in the mall, she assured me that it was absolutely doable and it would be ready by the time I came back.True to her word, 2 hours later I went back and my coat was good as new, with the pockets attached as strong as ever. There's no hint of weakness where they were coming off before, and you can't even see that repairs were done.Helpful service and impeccable artisanship. I really appreciate it!

I need my dress altered and it was last min although there was a fee but nirosha was happy to take as a last min customer! It’s not my first time going here and asking for something right there and then and was able to get it done! Wonderful service clean area and very nice! Highly recommend

I had 4 pairs of dress pants I bought in the States that were really nice and fit me perfectly, unfortunately, upon bringing them back to Canada I found out that all of the zippers were faulty and didn't stay up.She replaced all of the zippers at $28/ea and did a great job, they were much better than the manufacturer zippers, they came up all of the way and were reinforced and don't slide back down. They estimated it would take 4 days but they were done a day early.

I had some dress pants that I had tailed tailored before but my tailor would not give me the taper I wanted, claiming if they did I wouldn’t be able to move.I went to Stitch it and got my tailoring done by Amina, and she was able to taper and hem them perfectly and yes I was able to move in them just fine.I came in on Tuesday and needed the tailoring done by Saturday morning, they said it would be. They managed to finish by Wednesday and they send you a text message to let you know.Highly recommend

Went to this place for alterations for a bridesmaid dress. They originally gave me a date at which my dress would be ready. I called the day before and they had no idea what I was talking about and we’re confused as they weren’t going to have the dress ready. When I originally wanted, and they gave me the wrong item. Luckily, I wanted to try it on, they gave me a pair of pants when my item was a bridesmaid dress. When I went in to try it on, all of the measurements were incorrect and the dress didn’t fit at all. So I went back a week later and they supposedly had things fixed. When I came to find the alterations were done so poorly with paying a lot for this to be done I am very disappointed in the services. Also realized that this is new management and not the original owner. They then decided to tell me I had deodorant stains on the gown, and that they could charge me dry cleaning services and give me 10% off. When I tried the dress on a week ago. Extremely expensive for a poor job. I will never be going back to get my alterations done at this business. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Important you TRY on your clothes if you are using their services.We used their services to alter 2 pants, after reading the high reviews. For the price we paid, we expected decent quality of work and moreover good customer service. Sadly we were let down- we provided a sample pant for reference but were NEVER asked to try on the pants that needed work. Upon pick up, we were never asked to try on the pants again. One of the pants required a redo and we were made to believe it was our fault for not trying on from the start. Who are the experts here again? Not to mention they sent us home with a needle in the sample pants (see image) - manger did not even apologize when addressed.Alternations are never perfect, there will be little adjustments. Taking frustrations out on the customer is WRONG. Admit your error and correct them.We were told we would receive a text when ready for pick up, nothing. Their system was at fault.Both visits the shop tried to insinuate the problem was with us, when they could have just been polite and treated us with respect every customer deserves.Not going back here again.

I came to this place to regarding my graduation dress. The service was very quick and it was a great experience! My dress looked very neat and proper and the stitching was excellent! I truly appreciate the amazing service and would totally recommend this place to others!
