In Parrsboro there is not much going on. There are couple of restaurants that they close early. We arrived late and we were lucky that Co-op was opened. Friendly staff and good variety of grab and go food. We enjoyed it

Barb. Very aggressive and combating when she fails the basics of cashiering. Rather chat and gossip with her pals" than do the job she is paid to do"

I stopped in on my way home today to buy some chicken wings. When I laid them out on my cookie sheet I found out that the tail and some extra bones were added to increase the weight to of course increase the cost! Been stopping here for years..never again!

Nice little grocery store. Has everything you need and always has something fresh from the bakery. The prices are reasonable for this nice store. I personally like all the prepared foods and cooked chicken...so all I have to do is pick up and go home and enjoy.

If you are an American and either old enough to have had a Super Duper, A&P, or 60s/70s era chains like Kroger or if you currently live in a small town with an IGA or similar grocery, you will recognize this place. It is not a typical large US grocery like Kroger or Publix today. The whole place could probably fit in the fruit/veggies and bakery section of my local Kroger. So, if you are expecting that kind of selection, you are going to be disappointed. But, they have what you need, especially when you are traveling, unless you need more exotic gf/df or sugar-free options. They have some but not many. They have 5 or so brands of laundry detergent, instead of 10 to 15.I review based on my expectations given the environment. Is a Dairy Queen the equivalent of a restaurant that requires a coat and tie and serves 7 courses? Of course not. I guess I view reviews like how they judge dogs to the breed standard. They wouldn't punish a miniature poodle because it didn't have greyhound like legs. And vice versa. So, I am not comparing this to a Walmart Supercenter or a Whole Foods because it is not.It was clean. The shelves were stocked. They take MC/Visa/AmEx. The staff were very friendly. And they cared. I probably should have led with thus, but their was an elderly lady in front of me. She was a local and could not see very well. The cashier informed her that the meat she was buying was dated the next day to make sure she was either going to use it or prepare to freeze it. She turned her back when the woman put in the PIN for her debit card. However, she helped her when she had trouble reading the prompts after that for cash back. She was just as pleasant to me and knew I was not a local by accent, lack of Co-Op card, and not bringing in a reusable bag.

Has what you need i sometimes question meat quality but a basic needs store that will allow you to get your basic needs. Prices are not outrages but don't expect big savings overall. If your in town you should support this store as if it is gone a drive to Amherst would have to be done.

Not knowing the store, asked a couple of people for help. They were both terrific.
