It took a month and three phone calls from me to the business before I picked up my piece and moved on to another business. I have no doubt that the business can do the work, its the lack of communication and customer service that is the issue. My expectations could have been easily set and managed with relaying timelines from the onset.

Gouged.Three years ago, my wife brought her watch here for battery replacement.She was told first the battery replacement would cost $20 but changed right away 100 bucks because the watch he said, was Tissot. A year later, the battery was dead. With that price, my wife held back in replacing the battery for a couple of years.A month ago, she decided to look for another watch service centre (along 1st ave. N) and it only cost her 20 buck and was given guarantee for a year.

I had been trying to get my boyfriend’s watching repaired for while now. The first place I went to said they would have to send it away and the second place estimated over $100 for the repair. I went to Gene’s for a third opinion and they fixed it for a tenth of the cost within hours. I highly recommend going there before anywhere else!

Great service and friendly staff. She told my other half and myself that she could send the metal strap to get soldered instead of buying a new strap. She said we would save money. My other half's son liked his metal strap for his watch and said whatever". That must mean "great

The previous reviews are either all written by relatives or they have been very fortunate. Maybe this business is better with watches but I took an ordinary mantle clock to them for a relatively ordinary repair and it took FOUR months to be repaired, cost me $277 and when I went to pick it up they had lost the winding key! So far it works but the service was appalling! I know watch/clock repair people are a dying breed but definitely take your clock some place else! And they are often closed during posted hours and don't return phone messages.

Took a watch to two other places, neither could remove the back to replace the battery. Both places where successful in scratching the hell out of it.Took it to gene's changed battery's in two watches in five minutes. No scratches..fast, friendly and inexpensive!

The service this business provides is exemplary.Every single time that I have walked into the store to get a battery replaced for my digital wrist watch, they have dropped whatever they were doing and replaced the battery in 5 minutes. All the other jewellers have told me to come back in half an hour to an hour.There has always been parking in from of the building, so the whole process takes 10 minutes.

Horrible customer service. I took my late fathers mantle clock to get repaired and was told 3-4 months. After 4 moths had passed, I called monthly and each time was told it would be 2 or 3 weeks and they were waiting on a part. Finally after 10 months of waiting, I went to their location on 2nd ave and was shocked to find that it hadn’t even been touch since I dropped it off!! She was not even apologetic about the situation. Very disappointing!!

The crystal of my watch got some deep scratches on it, so I asked around, and Gene's was highly recommended to me.I took the watch in before lunch, and picked it up before closing that afternoon. It was a year old, but they took out the scratches, and it literally looked brand new again.I was happy with what they charged me ($10) and the service was very friendly.Extremely handy location, especially if you are downtown.

I called, no hesitation, clear answers. Got a couple watch bands resized and it was inexpensive. In and out in under 10 minutes. The shop is on the 2nd floor of a building.So if you're looking for a big sign I didn't see one. But they're there. Just park and walk and you'll see the sign with directions.
