L'Hotel Particulier Griffintown

First time in Montreal and my wife and I had a wonderful experience. We stayed in a Duplex suite at L'Hotel Particular and it was a cozy spacious apartment. Close enough to walk to old Montreal area. It also offered a garden/courtyard that we could enjoy in our downtime.

The experience was very nice. The reception from the owner was very sweet and genuine. He provided us with all the details we need to know about the place. My friends and I really enjoyed the indoor space but even more the outdoor space. There was a heated veranda and it was magical. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable and a nice speaker in the living room. I really recommend this place if you’re looking to have a good time with friends, it is truly perfect.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel particulier Griffintown. We stayed in “l’appartement” and loved having a full kitchen, dining and living room and space to unwind. The owner, Michel, is incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home. The garden is a delight, and the location was perfect—close enough to walk to all the sites (old city, downtown, etc) but in a very authentic, funky neighborhood. 10/10 would recommend

on January 10th we made a reservation for 4 nights from August 10th to 14th. This reservation was immediately confirmed and the full amount (1200 cad) was paid to the hotel. In early May I received a message that the hotel could not accommodate us and that we should please cancel the booking. We declined this as we had no reason to cancel. This business practice is not professional. The hotel wanted to explain to me by phone that I had a contract with booking and that I should contact them. However, the contractual partner is the hotel. Unfortunately, only bad alternatives were offered to me. The hotel promised to find an alternative for me, which unfortunately didn't happen. Luckily I found another good place to stay. I would have liked to have done without the renewed booking stress. Unfortunately, the hotel's booking confirmation was not reliable.

We spent two nights at the duplex room and the overall experience was amazing. Mic and Jeremy were helpful and welcoming even before we booked the rooms. Indoor parking for $25/night available, which was necessary when we traveled in the snow storm. The kitchen was equipped with everything we need. And the value was great. Oh and we definitely enjoyed the cafe that Mic suggested!

Our family gathered in this magical place for our daughter's Montreal wedding weekend.We hosted the Rehearsal Dinner in the lovely Jardin Secret.As we had booked the entire Hotel, we had the freedom and access to each room.This is a special spot in a great location. Easy walking to boulangerie and dépaneur and the LaChine Canal.Highly recommended for something more than a standard hotel.

We booked our stay at L'Hotel Particulier Griffintown about four months in advance, and were really looking forward to visiting Montreal for the first time.When we arrived, Mic told us that we would be moved to a hotel the last night of our stay (we booked 4 nights total). We were immediately confused as to why we we’re being moved. He didn’t offer a clear explanation when asked, nor he didn’t apologize or offer any type of discount.Via an email receipt, we now know that he booked the new hotel two weeks prior to our arrival. He clearly waited to inform us so we wouldn’t cancel and find another place. We noticed that other customers mentioned the same thing happening to them, so it’s pretty clear to us that he’s double booking the space to get a higher rate, which is an incredibly shady business practice.In addition to this, the morning we were moved there was loud drilling and construction in the “secret garden” starting at 9AM, continuing at the very least until we left. Mic did not warn us prior to the drilling, or even apologize for the sounds.Lastly, the space is being billed as a more upscale experience, when in reality it is not very clean and furnished inexpensively. The pictures and descriptions on the website do not match the quality of the listing, and we even saw multiple bugs in the bedroom area during our stay. To make things worse, the ground floor apartment has a door that leads right out into the “secret garden” so there’s essentially no privacy in the bedroom.Overall, underwhelming stay in a place that is not very clean with next to no natural light or privacy, and unprofessional communication with the owner to boot. Would not recommend or stay here again.

We had a great time at L'Hotel Particulier. There were 15 of us and we all had a comfortable place to sleep - the place is huge and there were so many beds! There are also multiple living rooms and plenty of bathrooms which is helpful for a large group. The location is perfect and a short walk to Old Montreal - Griffintown has some cool spots as well. I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel was really cool! Each room is a mini apartment over 3 stories with the bedroom on the top level. Super cool. Bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood will only get better once some of the current construction is complete. Tons of nice restaurants and cafes and even a brewery near by! I'd definitely recommend and is a perfect place for a group of friends to rent out the entire place, especially in the summer with the secret garden and patio out back!

Very personal and attentive host Michael. Michael personalized my daughters’ breakfasts each day so they would have great days at school. He bright very good coffee to me each day too. The place was clean and everything operated perfectly! I will book with Michael every time there is availability when I am in Montreal ! Thank you Michael!
