We had a really rough day yesterday as we had to put our 14 yr old dog, Shylo down. We brought Shylo to Yates feeling horrible, devastated and unsure if we were doing the right thing! The Yates clinic was amazing! They were kind, caring, compassionate and completely non-judgmental! It was such a peaceful & calm experience for having to go through this horrible event in our lives! Huge Thank you to the ladies that had to deal with our family yesterday!! Thank you so much!! Absolute professionals! Our daughter was very thankful and very impressed.Mirko, Jacqui, Rachel & Benton. RIP Shylo

I have been bringing my dog to Yates for the past 12 years. I brought her into Yates just over a week ago as she was having some accidents. They sent me home with Baytril to try and clear the infection. Before my visit, the only symptoms my dog was exhibiting was extra water consumption, accidents and a bit of clingyness. We began the Baytril and my dog began vomiting - which I read could be a side effect. 2 days later and she could not keep water or food down. I stopped the Baytril and called Yates for assistance. They perscribed me clavamox. My dog began this antibiodic, but after a day and a half she was still unable to keep anything down. She was unable to walk well and was incredibly weak. I called Yates Friday morning explaining what was happening and was told a vet would call me back. Nobody called and my dog got worse. I ended up having to take her to a clinic and have her put down the next day. When the previous owners were still managing the clinic, they always made sure to return a call. They even made after hours calls to check and see how pets were doing.I am very concerned that my dog was given a medication that was too strong or not appropriate for her considering that she rapidly developed symptoms that were not present before medication. I'm also concerned about that lack of care and compassion that the clinic seems to have now. I live in London and used to bring my dog to Yates because of the care provided. I see that other clients of the clinic are feeling the same way after reading reviews.I would prefer if you did not apologize and appear to be sympathetic and respond to this post as you have done to others. It is not sincere and I am only posting publicly to warn others before bringing their family members to your establishment.

I called yesterday to get my 14 year old cat in to have him put down. He was extremely sick and suffering. I called crying asking for help. Was put on hold 3 times so the receptionist could ask this practice manager. Was told they have no room today or I could drop him off and see if they have time to check him out between clients" I said I want to stay with him and they told me they have no time today. What kind of vet (which I have been using for years) turns away a dying animal? Should be ashamed of themselves. Im definitely finding a new vet. BTW I found a very respectful animal hospital that helped him out of his suffering no thanks to Yates!! Just atrocious"

Yates veterinary WAS the best, family run, not out to drain your pocket veterinary before they sold the clinic. It’s a shame and embarrassment the Yates name is still connected with this place. Talk about night and day in how the clinic is run and managed, not only is the place greedy with prices, try getting an appointment for a regular check up.I had no choice but to transfer to a better managed staffed clinic which was a hard thing to comprehend after numerous childhood pets growing up were cared for by Gord and Glenn here.I would not recommend anyone trusting this clinic with getting their pet seen in a timely manner even when it counts.

We met the new doctor, doctor Ivan today and he was absolutely fantastic. We were unsure to be honest with you if we were going to stay at this Vet as we had some conflicting information in the past. Doctor Ivan knew exactly what was wrong with our cat and was able to offer a treatment that suited us all. We are looking forward to many more years at Yates and hope that doctor Ivan will be around for those.
