Right at Home Calgary

I currently reside in Victoria,BC. My mother lives at Edna Simco retirement lodge. I hired Right at Home Calgary in April 2020, when COVID-19 hit. They take care of all Dr appointments, light Housekeeping and groceries etc.. that my mother requires to live day to day. The staff are so professional and dependable. They exceed our expectations. Especially, Brkti, (Manager) is so flexible and accommodating with all our last minute requests. I recommend their services to anyone who wishes to continue residing in their home. Exceptional service!!

If there is more than 5 stars, I would do that for Right at Home. In the past few years, I had been utilizing government funded home cares with no option to change a provider. As family and a working person, I struggled with consistency and dependability when using the service given by AHS. About two months ago now, the case manager for my mother recommended me to switch to Client Directed Home Care. This program allows any person approved or eligible for AHS Public Home Care, including Self Managed Care (SMC), the opportunity to select their own preferred private home care services provider to work with, without having to submit invoices for reimbursement.I called Right at Home, and responded me immediately. Setting up the service the next day. Their staff are professional and very consistent. Becky (care coordinator) is very kind and helpful in setting up the service for our family. My life changed from panicking every morning for no show staff to living in a 5 star hotel. I strongly recommend Right at Home to anyone who wishes to continue living at their home with home care service.

I have utilized the services of Right at Home for my mom for the past 3 years, initially part-time, and now full-time. This care permits me to be a daughter instead of her caregiver.Although my mom is in long-term care, the facility staff of 2 health care aides for 15 residents with dementia and other needs is insufficient to ensure she is properly hydrated and gets the other support she needs during her waking hours. I am grateful for the qualified, professional, and compassionate individuals from Right at Home who supplement her care and provide my sociable mother with the companionship she enjoys.

I have been working with Right At Home Calgary and the service that is delivered to the clients is something I always wished to have for my loved one. I have been witnessingthe company exceeding clients expectations because the focus is client/family centered.Working with this company has given me the most satisfaction. We became connected to the Right at Home team in February and began our service contract with them in March 2022 for assistance in caring for our amazing mother in her home. Along with the services through AHS/CBI, we (4 adult children) had been supplementing with daily visits to care for my mom as well for some time already. Our family respected my mom's greatest wish which was to remain in her home unless it ever became absolutely impossible. Up until meeting Right at Home, Alberta Health Services & CBI had been assisting us with care for our mom. As her needs increased, we wanted to ensure she had someone with her for longer periods of time - as well, someone who could assist with all aspects of her care (not just personal care, meals and medication - but someone to assist with any housekeeping as well). From the first phone call with Brkti ('Becky'), Right at Home put us at ease. Their complete understanding of my mom and our family's desire to keep here safe, comfortable and happy at home was immediate - and they're flexibility in providing care when needed was very important. The caregivers who were scheduled to take care of our mom were exceptional - so compassionate and caring not only to mom, but to all of us. We felt as though they were extended family members with the same level of care and respect for my mom that her own family carried. More importantly, my mom felt immediately and completely at ease in their care - they made her smile every day which made all of our hearts burst as we worried about my mom's mental health in coping with a slow physical / mental decline. Mom has an incredibly strong and positive character trait but we could see how some days were really tough for her. She has the best sense of humor and the caregivers were so good at making her laugh! We still had AHS/CBI doing dinner and bedtime care visits - with Right At Home taking care of the mornings; plus the family coming in often to visit mom and assist as needed. AHS also helped us arrange for equipment that made my mom's day-to-day much more comfortable - and all the caregivers were amazing at providing full care to my mom without even making her get out of bed as this became increasingly more difficult for her.The caregivers communicated with us constantly and were the first to notice health changes - some that were becoming serious - so we could arrange further care for my mom.Very tragically, my mom started to experience a very serious health decline in early June. Right at Home's caregiver was with her the morning it became apparent something was very wrong. The caregiver took immediate and professional action and called Brkti who called me for authorization to call 911. I completely trusted Right at Home on this - and the paramedics and Emergency doctor later advised us that if they had waited even a few moments longer, my mom would not have survived. The paramedics arranged for my mom to be moved to critical care in the hospital. The ER doctor caring for her on arrival was one of the most compassionate, kind people we could have been fortunate enough to have taking care of mom. She was very sick and we were advised the hospital would be able to keep her comfortable but we should say our good-byes. While it was the hardest thing for all of us, we all are so grateful for having the time to be with my mom in her final moments to ensure she knew we were there and she would not feel pain. She passed peacefully with all of us with her the entire time. The Right at Home caregivers' actions that day allowed this moment for my mom and our family - and we are forever grateful to Right at Home for all their love, compassion, professionalism, care and respect for mom and our family. When I needed to find immediate home care for my mother, Right at Home was the only company that responded to me so quickly and was able to help me out within just a few days! They made the process so simple and fast when I needed it, and my mother is very close with her care giver and super happy. I can't recommend this company enough, there are so many companies in Calgary but Right at Home really cares about helping people!!!

On behalf of My grandparents age 92 and 90 I would like to share our gratitude and why we would recommend Right At Home Calgary Calgary. My Grandfather lived on his own and was reluctant to have someone provide foot care and other personal care for him. Two visits changed his perspective towards utilizing home care. he was so relieved and grateful towards the support that was provided from Right at Home. He continued having regular schedule until his passing at his own home. The care for my grandparents at their comfortable home was extremely essential. The case manager Richelle was very kind and compassionate. We recommend Right at Home for their compassion and professional care of our seniors.

RIGHT AT HOME CANADAI take care of my Mom of 92 years and work as full time as I can. So when the government opened things up, that I could self manage using one of the companies on their list. Instead of having only one option that wasn't meeting my needs or my Moms needs.I interviewed a few Companies on the list to find out what sorts of things they could offer for us and seemed to connect best with RIGHT AT HOMECANADA. They are able to start very early in the AM which was always a big deal for my employer and the shift that works best for me best too.At my Mom's age it is all about quality. The lady's do so much more with mom adding to that quality of her life and, much to my surprise they add a lot to mine too! Doing things to make my life easier this gives me the ability to spend more time doing more fun things with my Mom.The care givers are amazing, I can tell Mom really enjoys them. Dementia is really challenging, sometimes more than others. I would not be able to do this without their help. They make our lives so much better. I had been so frustrated orienting and reorienting different care caregivers everyday and my mom with her declining cognitive was totally clueless with all these care givers she doesn't know them at all. Once I talked to Right at Home Calgary we have the kind of care giver we want and we have her all the time. I am so happy and satisfied with the care we are getting. One thing that amazes me is the care they give for my mom whenever I am away and travelling for business and the report I get every hour and the updates am getting. I recommend their service for all and specially for family who has to travel.
