The location is nice and quiet. There are restaurants and bars nearby. The people working there are very nice. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open yet for the season. I stayed there 2 nights. I didn't know it but my wife had sent me a father's day card as a surprise. Unfortunately it didn't get there yet. I asked the workers and they hadn't seen it. I asked them to forward it to me at home in Wisconsin. I figured I would never see it. About a week after I got home from my trip I got it in the mail. Like I said the workers there are very nice and they go above and beyond to be accommodating.

We booked into the restaurant at the Telegraph House for an 8pm dinner on a Monday not being sure what to expect and discovered this lovely old inn hides a fantastic restaurant. We ordered the lobster salad for a starter and it was delicious. The maple candied walnut salad really complimented the lobster tail perfectly. For mains my wife ordered the broiled haddock and i got the 6oz steak and they were both fantastic. Dessert was the toffee pudding. I'm genuine when I say that this has been one of the best meals we've had here in Canada on our trip from west to east coast. Special mention to our server Liam who was super lovely and informative.

The place was clean and the rooms were big. But I have to say the service was amazing, friendly staff! My father had left an item behind and after a brief phone call they had sent the package out! Would stay here again!

Beautiful old heritage home. Rooms are updated and simple. Meets the needs of an overnight stay. Close to restaurants and other amenities. Tv had the minimum (5) channels, if that is what your looking for in a room.

I gave 5 stars for the reservation service. I did a very stupid mistake on my online booking. Rhiannon gave me a call back and helped me a lot. Because this book included two big families, she gave us a lot of good suggestions and kept patient with me all the time. We already get an amazing feeling of the hotel, do believe we will have a awesome and comfy stay there on July as well. Thank you Rhiannon.

I don’t know who the fluffers are on the reviews but honestly off season rate of $150 for a tiny room with windows that don’t close, is way too much, in old poorly maintained building. Can’t hardly turn around in the bathroom. Restaurant food was amazing but if you’re looking for big portions, they are not, again for the price you are paying. Do yourself a favour and go some where else for your hard earned money. The plus is the staff, who are very nice for both the hotel and restaurant.

The Telegraph was recommended to us. It's a pretty old business but we were comfortable in our room. Great location and close to many good restaurants. It's a short distance to the Alexander Graham Bell museum.

Fantastic! They were super kind for accepting us and our two dogs in april 2022 for 2 nights in Cape Breton! The room was clean and had everything we needed, it was very quiet. We loved the city with it's nice little waterfront walk, the amazing Pizza restaurant and friendly staff everywhere. A very nice place to stay if you go in Cape Breton and a good starting point for the Cabot Trail!

Really great feel to this place!! Cozy and comfortable room with all amenities I needed! The front desk, when asked for a mint tea after my long drive, even provided that! Recommended a local breakfast spot in the morning, called Bean there, and it did not disappoint! Didn't try the pizza spot he recommended for dinner but I am sure it would have been good as well! Thanks for the night stay! Will stay again!
