Atelier Kids Childcare

We switched our son's childcare center in March 2022 to Atelier Kids and couldn't be happier with our decision. During the very short period of time he has been at Atelier, we have seen him grow into a confident, curious and an amazing human being! They expose your child to different aspects of learning through sensory, play and outdoor/nature walks. The educators/teachers are incredible - friendly, caring and professional! From Day 1 they welcome my child with open arms and everyday I can see how much they love him and every child in the center. The facility is inviting - colourful, bright with plenty of windows and very clean. The management is great with communication and keep parents in the loop of various aspects involving the center.We are so impressed with the care my son has been getting and we cannot wait until our youngest joins Atelier Kids!

As a curious educator who has visited many different Reggio Emilia-inspired centres , I really enjoyed my visit to Atelier Kids! While the space itself is very beautiful and inviting, the team is extremely welcoming and dedicated. I really gained a sense that the values of community and relationship-building are deeply woven into the fabric of this centre.My favourite part of the tour was my visit to the outdoor space which is co created and designed with the children themselves. It is very clear that Atelier Kids values the voice of the children and seeks to celebrate their ideas in unique and creative ways. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the space and hope to return soon!

I could simply not speak more highly about Atelier Kids and I genuinely recommend them to every mama I might strike a conversation with on the playground. We have been so impressed with our little one's development and overall care at Atelier. The educators are all highly specialized (way beyond the minimum requirements I researched) and they also seem to be happy in their positions which naturally reflects in their interactions with the kids. Every aspect of the daycare was so thought out too, from the layout of the classrooms to the type of furniture and educational toys they use in the Reggio inspired teachings. My little one also became more adventurous in the types of foods she would eat at home because of the great exposure to the organic, unique and evolving Atelier menu as per what was fresh in the season! Atelier has been our saving grace. I researched so many daycares in Toronto and Atelier cannot even be compared - it should be in a whole new category! I should also note that their response during the pandemic and the procedures they have set in place to keep us all safe have been amazing. I am not usually one to write reviews, but this is so well deserving. If you're reading this as part of your research of which daycare to choose, then you've found it. Get on the waitlist and schedule a site visit to judge for yourself. I am reminded everyday that I've made the right decision when I pick up my daughter with a smile on her face, excited to tell me about her fun day.

We love Atelier Kids! The philosophy, the people, the beautiful and healthy, well thought-out environmental learning space. Atelier Kids is a work of passion. Its founder Bernadette Testani has put her heart and soul into this centre and spent an extraordinary amount of time envisioning and studying the Reggio Philosophy and creating the vision for Atelier Kids.We praise Bernadette for her courage and tenacity through adversity, as an independent business owner living the struggle.She has built several environments for children where they, too, could embark on the journey of learning, growth and development as the inherently capable, confident, and curious young minds that she viewed them as being.We highly recommend Atelier Kids to any family who wish their kids to strive at all levels. This is a wonderful place to grow healthy, strong and emotionally intelligent children.

This is a very long overdue review and I regret not doing so earlier. My child attended Atelier for nearly two years with the exception of the COVID induced lock-down in early 2020. After a rocky start through no fault of Atelier due to COVID, we have nothing but good things to say about Bernadette, Kathleen, Alison, Francesca, Sheema and the rest of the team.Our child was and is shy but he blossomed in Atelier. The team nurtured him and found out what his interests were and made him feel comfortable. I love the focus on outdoor education and the use of High Park when possible. The small class sizes were great and the classrooms were designed with children in mind top to bottom. We had the fortune of seeing the classrooms before COVID stopped parents from going in and I hope parents can see it again when this is all over.We really wished our child could go to Atelier for JK/SK but were not able to do so as he was accepted at another school that goes to grade 8 and did not want to lose the opportunity. Otherwise, we would recommend anyone consider extending their time at Aterlier these additional two years.One final note and compliment to Aterlier. On the first day of his new school, rather than being scared or nervous about a new schoool, he gave us a hug and said bye" becaues he has learned that school is a fun and good place to be."

We have a lovely experience at Atelier. We loved the outdoor component emphasis and the communication with the parents was regular and welcome! The teachers were passionate and clearly cared for the children and their learning. I also loved the flexibility in pick up and drop off and the year round service. Highly recommend this to anyone looking!

And further, they build meaningful relationships with parents, guardians, neighbours, and the broader community.We began our journey at Atelier with our first child and were so impressed with the experience that we now send both our children to Atelier.The safe, small, homelike Daycare & Kindergarten is essential to our children's imprint period, development, and our entire family's well-being.The incredibly dedicated and experienced staff support our children to learn and grow in their unique ways. And as parents, we have evolved as a result of the partnership that Atelier's professionals provide.

My family recently toured Atelier Kids, and even after just spending one hour at the facility, it truly felt like home. Our daughter was smiling ear to ear (and actually didn’t want to leave the beautiful and fun-filled back playground) and the teachers all welcomed her as if she already was a student there — playing with her, interacting and laughing the whole time.You really can tell how genuinely happy everyone is to work there, which is so important when choosing a daycare.Their classrooms were light-filled and full of exploratory toys to captivate your child’s imagination. Their back playground was absolutely a child’s dream! Two large oak trees for lots of shade, a sand pit, a garden— all things which are very hard to find in a downtown daycare. Their Atelier (artist workshop) in the backyard was an extra bonus. Full of art supplies that the children can explore. And a resident artist who works with the kids every week!If you’re unsure about Atelier Kids, do yourself a favour and book a tour! You’ve found the ultimate daycare for your child in the city!

Our toddler was only at Atelier for 2 months before the pandemic and we had a great experience. We loved the educators, neutral colours of the rooms, the inviting environment, open ended toys and great catering. The educators were so warm and caring. Since then we've had to pull our toddler out but communication with the families since the pandemic has been great. We really appreciate being notified of ongoing changes. Through this difficult time, Bernadette offered to refund our deposit, which she wasn't required to based on our signed contract. If we ever require childcare again, we'll definitely be reaching out.
