J. Diem Hair & Nail Salon Ltd

Been coming here with my two teenage daughters for the past few years for various hair services. Their high quality of work, customer service and reasonable prices were why J. Diem was our go-to salon. Recently, I was disappointed to learn that the majority of their stylists, including my usual ones, are no longer working there. I couldn't even try a different stylist as the staff is very small and I don't recognize anyone there anymore. I understand that stylists come and go over time, but it was odd to see everyone gone. I'm left having to find a new salon that I trust.

Quite a while back, but my perm process was extremely painful as one worker yanked into my hair and the other went very lightly. I showed a picture of something I wanted but instead I got the bushiest perm of my life. Secondly, the trimming of my hair was done so sloppy and under five minutes. Employee took ages speaking to a friend or client and took over three hours to complete my cut.

Go to Raha! She's amazing with my thick, bone straight Asian hair.I never received any recommendations for this place and I walked by for years just noticing the name but nothing else. I happened upon it because I had a group dinner with old friends and didn't want to look like my raggedy self, so the first website that opened early enough and had online bookings, I went for it. Picked Raha and never looked back. I loved the flow of my haircut and the shape.Clean salon. Friendly staff. Easy booking and cancellations.

I love these people. Simply they do their best to make you happy with their service. I had a nice highlight on my very weak hair ( with Hannah) and had my nail got shellac with Lisi.I had a nice blow dry later with Jin in my tight time going to a party( She is so patient and kind).Thank you all and see you soon.

I've been going to Cindy for acrylic nails for a couple months and she's great--she's really efficient, takes care in shaping and design, and has a lot of experience. She also sands the acrylics pretty thin so they're more natural feeling and looking.

I love getting my hair cut at J. Diem! Their staff is kind and very skilled at their jobs. My favourite person is Master Stylist Jenny, as she knows exactly how I like my hair cut. When I went while wearing my N95 mask, she was very good with removing it to shave around my ears, but could hold it over my face, so it was super safe! I feel like their rates are affordable for the quality that they provide. And when they wash your hair, they will give you a great, relaxing scalp massage. Highly recommend!

Jenny is the MVP!!!I was recommended here after a horrible haircut I got somewhere else. My hair was so horrible i had to shave it bald. J.Diem's online booking was really easy. When I arrived, my hairdresser Jenny greeted me and was very friendly and very nice. I described to her what had happened to my hair and asked if I could get a slickback. Unfortunately, she had told me my hair was too short for it, but she would come up with a brand new haircut for me with the length of hair I had. I trusted her, and boy was I impressed. My confidence level boosted after I got the haircut. I was in shock on how good it was. She basically worked her magic and fixed my clown haircut. The price was $35, which is a little more than I'm used to paying, but I assure you it's worth every penny! I went home all happy with my new haircut thanks to Jenny!

I honestly wish I could give this place a -10 rating but I couldn't so I had to settle with a 1. I came here one year ago with a full set of healthy hair and left with not only fried hair, but I lost about 70% of my thick locks. I was clear with what I wanted to my stylist Jenny, but she seemed to have something else in mind. I said I didn't want my hair to be thinned out but she convinced me to do a little. Who knew her definition of little was 50% of my hair.. And on top of that she thinned out my hair from the roots! She literally started from the top and went all the way to the bottom. But that's not even the worst part. The photo I had shown her of hair I wanted was a rooty subtle blonde balayage. Instead I got half a head of platinum blonde hair, a quarter of literally white hair, and then a quarter of it was brown. Nothing was blended I had chunks of orange here and there and when she started blow drying it chunks of hair were falling out. I told her this doesn't look right but she kept insisting this is the style. I paid and left the salon that day in tears because what was left of my hair was hay-like and orange/white/brown. I went back a few days later telling her how unhappy I was and just wanted my money back because this is not what I wanted and the condition of my hair that she left me in was unbelievable. I had strangers telling me that it was terrible and I needed to get my money back. She refused. No matter how many times me and my mother insisted she refused. She just kept saying she'll make it better but how am I suppose to trust someone that just ruined my hair!? After about 40 minutes of begging for my money back or even a portion of it she said the only thing she was willing to do was try and fix it. Me being the guilable person I am I gave her a second chance. I let her try and fix it but no matter what she did my hair would just look worse and worse. I left and box dyed my hair myself and I did a better job than she ever would have. A year later and my hair STILL hasn't grown back to how thick and healthy it use to be. I wasn't going to write this review hence how later it is now that I did it, but I decided I should because if you are having any thoughts about trying this salon out, do yourself a favour and don't. They'll damage your hair, do their own thing and colour it a different colour than the one you have in mind, and then refuse to compensate you for the mess they created.
