I do not have a review of his work as I did not hire him to take photographs for me, but what I do know of Lilo is quite possibly more important. Lilo's numerous awards and holding the title of Master of Photographic Arts can attest to his photographic abilities. I have seen his work and it is simply stunning.BUT when I can tell you about Lilo is his character. Lilo cares. Doesn't matter if you have known hm for a while or not at all. He cares about each and every person that crosses his path.I had the opportunity to purchase some camera equipment on UsedVictoria during the summer of 2013. I was looking to purchase a flash and Lilo happened to be selling one. His phone etiquette and demeanor was very pleasing and quite accomodating. He had several people make inquiries for his equipment, but still took the time to talk to me, even when I had given up on the sale. He listened to me, not try to make the sale and be done with it.When we agreed that I was going to purchase the equipment from him he invited me to his place. He greeted me at the front door with a warm smile and invited me into his home. As soon as you walk in you can see some of his works of art.At first it seemed like it would be a quick and normal transaction. But as I stated Lilo has a caring nature and asked questions of my and my photography interests. He did not once put on an air of superiority. The conversation was all about me, my interests, my equipment, my likes, dislikes, subject matter, etc. I do not talk to people that I dont know easily. I try to make it short, quick and simple. However Lilo puts you at ease and he became very easy to talk to. For a photographer this a great asset to have. But for Lilo it is not just an asset, it is who he is as a person. He is not just like that on the job, per se.I felt comfortable in our conversation. He found out that I am an amatuer in the field and thusly wanted to make sure that I understood the flash and all that it could do. He could have easily taken my money and sent me on my way. But Lilo invited me up to his studio to show me the flash and how it interacted with my equipment. He told me about this flash in a way that no manual ever could. He had me practice shots under different situation and gave me tips to take better pics.While doing this I notices numerous awards and accolades and I turned the tables on him and started to ask him about his interests. He was very modest and never once made me feel inadequate in photography. He understood me. Since I knew I was dealing with a professional and I loved how spoke to me and that I felt I was able to grasp or understand his way of explaining, I asked him if he would ever consider teaching classes. Little did I know he was already doing it, just not during the wedding season as he is very sought after for the genre.This chance encounter to pick up a flash turned into a 2.5 hour friendship kindling, of which I will never forget that someone actually took the time. That he was more interested in me than the money. Not only did I leave feeling content about the sale and the knowledge imparted on me. But that I actually made a connection.Lilo is without a doubt an understanding, caring, and compassionate indivdual who strives not only for photography excellence but that his relationships are genuine whether you are an aquaintance, a customer, or a friend. He makes you feel comfortable and cared for. For a photographer, the ability to do this is unsurpassed.You will have the utmost and memorable experience with Lilo during your photoshoots. He is respected by his peers and lauded by several photographic companies and organizations. Take a look at his work on this website, it is awesome! But take a look at the stuff you dont see here thats available such as a book created from the pictures that he takes from events. Momentos that you will cherish forever. For something that priceless, you want the best. Lilo is exactly that!

I have been dealing with Lilo for the last 10 years. He photographed my wedding and went above and beyond expectations. Recently this past summer I travelled from Calgary to have him do a family portrait session and again he never disappoints. I can't wait to have him do my ten year anniversary photos. You do get what you pay for in that his services are not particularly inexpensive but the quality of his work in definitely reflected. Lilo's ability to engage us in playful activity while he does his thing makes for a relaxed casual atmosphere while still doing enough posing with direction to generate award-winning portraiture.

Lilo is my professor at Pacific Design Academy. He is the most passionate photographer and teacher I've ever met. He is extremely knowledgable and has taught me and my classmates so much in the two year Professional Photography Program. Lilo's photography is absolutely excellent! His use of light, composition and posing techniques are beautifully composed in each image he takes.
