My wife and I purchased 2 pairs of Nike's at The Hype. The Manager who helped us initially was brilliant. Super friendly and informative, going the extra mile to help us make sure we were happy with our shoe selections. He told me about their website that had an availability by size selector and price filter. This was great because I have large feet and most shoe stores don't carry my size. We asked for a discount and the Manager asked one of the store owners who was there. They were nice enough to give us 5% off because we bought two pairs. The problem occurred when we got home and my wife tried on her pair of shoes again with a different pair of socks. At home they felt really loose because she was wearing regular socks but in the shop I guess she had on thick Winter socks so they felt more snug in the store. We decided to go back to The Hype and exchange her pair for one size smaller. The shoes were still brand new in the box, not worn outside and only fitted on a carpeted floor. She tried on the smaller size and it was a better fit. At the cash the owner from the day before did the exchange and he said it had to be rung through the cash as a refund of the one pair and a purchase of the replacement pair. I understand that as this will fix the inventory counts with a size exchange. Note this was a size exchange in the same shoe for the same price. He refunded the discounted amount but then charged full price on the replacement. This was a difference of around $17. I felt this was unfair as it was a straight size exchange and the costs of the shoes were no different if my wife had just gotten the smaller size to begin wife. As a business owner myself for over 30 years, I felt his approach to running his business, trying to extract a few extra dollars to the dissatisfaction of customer service, will cost him more in the long run. His attitude clearly showed us that he does not have a long-term vision of creating longevity for his business in the future. Why do I say this? He has lost two customers for life. I hope that $17 was worth it for you. It cost you two customers for life, tarnished your brand with this and other negative reviews. Many people will read this and think twice about going in to your shop if they feel they will get equally unfair treatment.

Great guys to deal with. True sneaker heads that know the market and know their stuff. All of their prices are fair and on-par with almost every other reseller store.I dealt with Kade to sell a couple pairs of shoes and the process was smooth and easy. Would definitely recommend Hype!

They have great customer service. It was Boxing Day when we went and they were very busy they still kind enough to help us. We also got a good discount. Expect more sneakers and discount.

Good experience with these guys. They'll work with you on trade values and are honest about stuff. The stock is decent, the site is good and their pricing is reasonable especially considering the climate of a lot of resale shops. I'll definitely continue dealing with them.

Shopped there many times and the boys are always willing to talk and listen about what you want. I have sold a few pairs there as well and they pay fairly, give a same day discount as well.They are straight with pricing as they check secondary market pricing but you save shipping, duties and tax.So happy I can keep some money in the Valley, support your local!Highly recommended.

THE HYPE is probably the best retail store Kelowna has to offer - as we are severely behind in the times :( ... all the guys that work here are polite, professional, fun, charismatic, they genuinely care that you leave happy! Ill forever get all my Essential gear and any footwear here for life, big respect!!
