Is this even a Library?Seems like there's always activities going on in the centre of the lobby. I wouldn't mind but it seems like these events are always so loud disregarding the fact that this is a library, a place people go for quiet to do activities such as reading, studying, etc. These events completely disregard the fact that this place is a library, not a REC centre. It makes it worse that these activities are right in the centre of the library (main lobby) because that sound isn't blocked out by any doors. There are rooms where these activities could take place, but they seem to never be used and for some reason, these rooms never seem available

Amazing Library, Amazing Staff, Amazing Services, and Amazing Cafe! There’s not thing bad to say about this library. Agnes, Esraa, Jesse, & Amy are always so helpful!!

I have to agree with other reviewers on the noise levels and the occasional kids fighting over a PC. Nonetheless this is a great community facility. Staff are generally helpful and nice. One particular staff member (a veiled lady) has been very friendly and supportive, took the time to show my kid around and helped her with in-library activities. Overall i find it a great place for a long morning read or even for getting some work done. I wish the hours were more convenient though, especially on weekends.

There are so many libraries in Halifax, after centeral library this next best you can find in the city. Very friendly and helpful staff with plenty of seating to quiet corner to read. They also have good collection of books and Media plus they have very nice children play area as well. The library also offers printing services and nice little cafe, conveniently located near Lacewood terminal.

Love spending afternoons here with the kids! There are lots of toys in the play area and (obviously) plenty of books to read!

The library was a once a very welcoming facility that I visited on a regular basis. Recently there are too many young adults who visit the facility and utilize it as a drop in centre". They were very loud and obnoxious with feet up on the tables. Staff should have the authority to call the police to have the offenders removed and banned from the premises or have a uniformed Police Officer in the premises during lunch time hours and after school so staff would not fear any interaction with the "offenders". My memories of the old Spring Garden Library was one warning

Friendly staff and plenty of activities and events but not great for studying or working with a laptop or pen and paper because instead of proper desk chairs you only find waiting room's chair which are too low for standard desks and hurt your back. A deep or proper cleaning is also needed here.

Very well maintained public library location. Friendly staff, free internet, personal cabinets, meeting rooms, learning center, kids activities area and much more.....

It’s a pretty good place. But there’s no one here to even ask those to shut their mouth. Adolescents(16-18 years) are annoyingly loud and no one even says anything. Security just smiles on them.
