After extensive rain fall on night the sewage water invaded the entire basement, after calling the insurance they suggested the on-side for the emergency services, at first i was reluctant because i had heard that these services are very costly and eat away from your insurance reimbursement, that's why before signing any document i had asked the project supervisor when she came to verify the damages about the cost of the job, where she said it would be a 1000$ and that was logical and within budget, but i was surprised that the cost was actually double, and my insurance balance dropped 2000$, after reviewing the detailed bill, turns out i was charged for more work hours that what the actual work was, the company charges you from the moment the truck leaves the company till the truck returns even if its for 30 min of actual work, in addition the employees have a quota to stick to, they will actually wait outside the house even after the job is done, so if the job took 30 min, and they have a 3 hour quota they will wait in the truck in front of the house for the additional time and happily charge you for it, thats exactly what happened when they came back to pick up the equipment. in addition the insurance wont pay untill they send them their invoice and that took a month. A month in a house smelling of humidity and rott. The work that was done was a bare minimum since the flood had affected multiple houses, they cut 4-inch holes in the walls and mopped the hardwood flooring with a detergent and placed dehumidifiers for around 5 days,In conclusion when they bill you the sky is the limit, do not trust the preliminary price they give you, because it will definitively be more, and you cannot argue with it because they take it out directly from the insurance coverage, and thats basicaly what all insurace emergency campanies are doing, so its better to contact a seperate company or contractor and get a quote after you are done with the insurance.
