Mike Deans frequently has expired, or close to expired products on their shelves... and NOT only in the discount section. Over the years, I've had difficulty purchasing lactose free milk that was not ready to expire in a few days, or already over the date... pate, prepackaged meat, bovril when they stocked it... They also rotate through staff quite quickly and frequently, often rope their grade school kids and grandkids into stocking shelves. They've closed locations due to lack of commerce, and are generally poor in most regards. Now, I will ONLY buy prepackaged dry goods, and only when the 10 minute trip to the next closest grocer is inconvenient, and even then, I sometimes skip Mike Deans for anywhere else.

Good selection and a super friendly place! Lots of options for cheap, good for single people for sure they had little individual watermelons and honeydew, single servings of local meat from the butcher etc. Very good! I'll be back for sure. I love going places like this where they are so kind and seem to genuinely like it when my kids are helping out and generally running around like maniacs.

Love the place, it’s a little town’s little grocery store that has everything you need, and if they don’t, they will get it for you. The only negative note is that they over cook their BBQ chickens, and after being under the heating lamps, it feels like I eating the turkey from Christmas Lampoon!Update: Bought a rotisserie chicken today, it’s perfect! Great job! Thank you

RUDE. Called to ask if they were open the guy simply replied “yup” and slammed the phone down ! In addition they are SLOW one of the employees couldn’t even anwser where the ice was located in the store. It took him 10 minutes to ring in my 6 items. Most of the staff are extremely unprofessional and the produce is disgusting. 2 stars because this place is my only option for close grocery shopping. I will NOT be going here unless I have too. Ridiculous

We just discovered this little hidden gem in Chesterville and we absolutely love it! The staff are so friendly, all of the produce is fresh and the prices and promotions are fantastic. We will be back!

Amazing prices on meat! I wouldn't rush there to buy much other than their meats. Decent meat selection at very affordable prices! I make a 50 minute trip when i'm ready to buy enough meat to last 3-5 months. Awesome staff and the butcher is very willing to assist with any meat order you want to place. Definitely my favorite meat market!

I find it dirty in there. I only go in there maybe 3 times a year. I have know clue how they survive an I've lived around here since I was 10. It's sad because the people on the township won't help the business. They do there best to run business into the ground. We need new blood on council. Because i remember Mike Dean's in the little white store next to co op. Help our small local businesses. Over the last 15 years Chesterville has no appeal to go there. But you got a big gray concrete dock... waste of tax money.

Used to rank 4.5 to 5. Since recent staff turnover delivery service is unreliable. Product often close to not being fresh - milk has soured - veg have started to go bad in fridge within a couple days..end up throwing out.After over one year never used to be like this... if you have a questiom or a delivery problem i shouldn't have to call you!
