We had a painting done by Melissa Jean of the area overlooking our cottage. It is a beautiful, one of a kind piece. Melissa was such a treat to work with, and her talent is incredible. Thanks Melissa Jean for this amazing piece! The Johnson family.

We had talked about bringing a piece of Lake of the Woods home for years. When we looked at the best way to do that, we found Melissa. Many of the paintings she had done in the past spoke so loudly to us. The love and appreciation we have for Kenora and Lake of the Woods could be seen in her work. We sat down with her to discuss doing a custom painting of a scene that we hold dear. Working with her through the collaboration process was amazing as she shared ideas with us while also picking up on things that made the scene unique to us. It was during this time that we found another one of Melissa's paintings in a gallery that we couldn't let go. In the end, we are left with an amazing piece of custom art that beautifully captures one of our most treasured places in the world and a second piece that reminds us of our many boating excursions. Thank you Melissa. This winter is going to be easier to get through because of your work!

We absolutely love our pieces from Melissa Jean. She captured every detail that makes the paintings so special to us. Her service was next level, mounting them with us. On top of that, she surprised us with a much sooner completion date! We will enjoy our two paintings, and the conversations they will bring in our dining room, for many many years.

A big milestone birthday was approaching for my husband and I knew that I needed to find a special gift to mark the occasion. I had seen some of Melissa's painting and decided to reach out to her to inquire if she could create a special painting of our happy place... Hilly Lake!Melissa visited us at our property and was immediately filled with ideas for the painting. We showed her photos from the early 80's and onwards; many of our best, most special memories. We really enjoyed the experience of having Melissa Jean paint a Sunset Scene for us. We are ecstatic with the final product. Our experience with Melissa from beginning to end on the commissioning of a custom painting was brilliant to say the least. Melissa took the time and asked the right questions to really understand what I was after. She came into our space and provided multiple.physical options for where the art piece would look best. Melissa went as far as to work with me and sneak the painting (it was a surprise gift) onto the wall in which we decided it would go while I made sure the birthday person was out of the house.We absolutely love the piece she created for us and look forward to the prospect of future projects with her. We were blessed to have spent the day on the ice, fishing and having a camp fire on an island on our lake, with Melissa and family last winter. We had talked about getting a painting from her. Fast forward to about a month or so later and while hanging out for a coffee in the studio, I had noticed one of her paintings on the wall was from that EXACT day on our favourite island! I recognized the trees and scene from that day! Needless to say we had to have it! What a special way to remember such a great day and one of our favourite places. We absolutely love it. Melissa Jean is beyond talented. Her composition, colours, and detail are out of this world. When anyone comes over to our home, it is the very first thing they mention and look at. Melissa nailed it! I first contacted Melissa to see if she could paint something for my wife’s 40th birthday. I wanted a picture of our favourite spot, our back dock at sunrise. Little did I know, my wife secretly was trying to get Melissa to do the same thing for me, as an anniversary present. Well, not only did Melissa handle that delicate situation with grace, she proceeded to paint us the most perfect painting for our newly renovated kitchen and dining room.
