North End Community Health Centre

They have a message on the IVR apologizing for the phone system issues but don’t fix the issues. Have been calling for over a week and nobody answers. I finally spoke with someone today. The reception staff don’t care about your personal situation. I tried explaining that I needed to speak with my doctor ASAP, as it was an emergency and her response was “did you not hear me that we don’t have appointments until May?” I realize that doctors are in short supply in Nova Scotia, so does that mean that customer service is not a pre request in this particular trade for front end staff? I have been off the past two weeks on sick leave. I need paper work filled out. I literally might not get paid from my job or worse fired. The receptionist does not care about my situation or to listen. I now have to add stress and anxiety to my medical condition. Compassion and empathy is not included in the services offered at the North End Community Health Centre.I spend 80% of my time at the walk-in clinic and I have a primary physician. I can’t wait 4 weeks to see my family doctor and the staff are far nicer at most walk-in clinics!

What a great team at NECHC, I was in urgent need of a referral and Dr. Mortera, Ronita and Tammy were outstanding in helping me! I am so thankful! Natalie

Incredibly dedicated staff. Excellent care.

I phoned to see if my 10.5 year old could take my appointment that was scheduled for the next day as she had a high fever for almost a week and didn’t seem to be improving. Rhonita was an absolute delight and switched the appointment no problem. She listened to my worries as a mom and made me feel validated. The attention and care we received during my daughter’s appointment was top notch. While our health care system is in crisis, I just want to acknowledge how grateful I am to the NECHC and their incredible staff.

My beautiful cat is around 15 years old, so we have visited a few vets over the years and have had very good experiences. However, the experience at the North End Clinic was deeply upsetting--I would actually say traumatizing. I would never consider taking a cat to this clinic. They literally grabbed the blood work as they were running behind." They did this prior to assessing my cat and it is documented this way in the chart. Anyone who knows anything about cats knows that this is not the way to treat a cat. After"grabbing the blood work

I love the people who work there and they are so helpful and pleasant to speak with.

The Staff on the front desk is competent, however some of the doctors will make you come in for appointments when all that is need is a requisition written. Seems they need that $ for an office visit and not working in the best interest of long time patients. Again just a Requisition - Not a Prescription

Some of the worst/actually ignorant front desk staff you ever had to deal with. Just hope your not going there for mental health reasons because a certain, (not all). Will be sure to make it worst in the process of trying to speak to a doctor. No clue how this person has a job as wrong calls and dealing with people. It's like a fight over a phone. Insanity.

honestly just a cesspool. if you can avoid coming here, by literally any means, you really, really should.the staff have completely checked out, which is almost understandable... but certainly if you're concerned for your health, you can do better for yourself than this place. just think about it.
