Budget Car Rental

My favourite place to rent a car from in Ottawa. The service is excellent and they go above and beyond in their delivery. All their cars are impecable and well maintained. I've rented a few times for work and it's always been a seamless transaction. Thank you for your hard work!

Word of advice: Never rent from here. Wish I could rate it 0 stars. The guy who was working there was a scumbag. We rented one of the cars, and he did the check-around for any prior damage. He said everything was fine, and we left. We drove literally less than a block (just down the street) before we noticed there was a crack in the bottom right of the windshield. Just to make sure they knew about this, we immediately turned around to go back and alert them of it.However, right after we tell him about it, he refuses to even listen to anything, and repeatedly tries to claim that we broke it (he claims something probably fell from the highway" multiple times). He comes out to look at it

I came here needing to rent a car just for a day. I was told by the agent at first that there were no cars available, later once we overcame that lie I was told that minimum rental was 3 days. Since I needed to run some errands i rented the car for the offered 3days. Later, I found out from another location that renting for a day is possible. I was disappointed with that interaction. I couldn’t even trust the discount i get through my work.

Most rentals had no car for me to rent for Saturday on short notice. It appears the person tried his best to get me a car for Saturday. Picked the car up on Saturday morning at 8.00 AM and returned Sunday before 8.00 AM with key dropped off in lock box.( They open at 10.00 AM.) Was charged the price i was quoted. ( No surprise extras thank you ) So in my case i can give it a 5 star.

I've rented here a few times now, and have been very impressed. The owner is always attentive and helpful. A few weeks ago I needed to drive on a snowy day, and they actually had a car with snow tires (which is surprisingly difficult to find at rental places). All the cars I've rented have been new, clean and in great condition. The service is efficient and pleasant. I will be going back.

Rented a van on short notice. Van gas level was at about 3/4 to 7/8. Budget guy says bring it back at the same level - how do you do that? Van had maintenance required message on dashboard. This should never happen.

My wife and I have rented from this location several times and almost always with the manager (seems to be the only person who works there). Most recently, we decided to book our rental online as there was a better offer. When we had arrived for pick up, we were dissatisfied with the vehicle provided as the space was not suitable for our family but to our shock, we were met with horrendous customer service. He refused to speak to us and we were practically shoo'd away. Extremely distraught, we decided to visit another budget and thankfully were ableto exchange the vehicle just in time for our trip. When we had returned to collect my wife's car from the original pick up location, we noticed an obvious dent and scuff/scratch marks on the back pumper. We called the manager and only after we had told him about the damage did this individual tell us that we did not get permission to park there" and "go deal with your insurance provider". Zero accountability. We spoke with customer service and were directed to an internal investigations unit within Budget which collaborates with law enforcement and are seeking advice. The manager at this location is extremely spiteful

The price is double if you rent it online. Also, we were provided with a defective GPS that made us waste a lot of time. The company does not want to refund the gps costs. We enclose 2 pictures: in one you can see it didn't display information in the junctions. In the other you can see we had arrived to destination but according to the GPS there were 3 more hours of journey. It really made us waste our Friday time :/
