Gem Cabinets

Bought a place with already built in kitchen from GEM cabinets. The place is brand new and no one was living in there.there was no harmful chemical used cleaning them. Solution of water and vinegar was used to wipe finger prints and stains from food.Unfortunately, there was a very poor wood staining done and when I contacted office for touch up kit, they said sure it’s $20. Alright. Picked it up and the wood stain was spilt plus it’s not easy to apply on wood for touch up. It is different colour, not matching,it applies darker and gets patchy.Update from October 2022: discovered a piece from cabinets not nailed down. Please view attached view.Gonna have to repaint the kitchen at my own expense as this is annoying to look at. I thought it was prints when I was looking at the place and kitchen in it. Nope, it’s poorly done job which frustrates me every morning.Look at the pictures. Nothing has been done to the cabinets. It’s their original look from gem cabinets.

I have been working with Gem Cabinets now for 9 years and have completed over 200 houses here in the Edmonton area all supplied and installed by Gem Cabinets! As with any products that are hand built and installed by hand there are going to be defects and or imperfections. The difference with Gem is they stand behind their products and most importantly their service. I contacted Gem Cabinets for assistance with a kitchen drawer that had started to come apart when opening. My house is seven years old and Gem Cabinets was used by the home builder. Andreea in the service department was so helpful in providing videos that showed me how to replace the broken parts if I had wanted to do the work myself. I opted to have someone come and repair the part instead. I was advised that some of the pieces have been discontinued, but they went above and beyond to locate parts for the drawers, and gave me extras in case I needed them in the future. I was booked in for an appointment very quickly; Eric arrived at the scheduled time and was very professional. He fixed the drawer that was broken, another drawer that was starting to show some wear and tear, and even checked all the others in the kitchen and bathroom to ensure they were in good working order. I am so happy with the exceptional service I received from everyone at Gem Cabinets. And the fact that it took seven years before having an issue with a drawer that is used daily, is a testiment to the quality of their products. I highly recommend Gem Cabinets and would not hesitate to use them in the future!

I contacted Gem Cabinets to help me install a new range hood insert to replace an old one that was defective. Replacing the old range hood insert was not an easy task. Upon discussing the matter with the Sales & Marketing Department, particularly with Mr. Bob Moon, we arrived at the best solution. This solution was professionally executed in a safely and timely manner by Gem's field installer, Jurand. I would like to commend Jurand and Bob for their professional and excellent customer service. Having worked in industrial project management, I customarily recognize and salute such dedicated and courteous personnel. More power to Jurand and Bob of Gem Cabinets.

Had a Crack in one of our cabinets. Went into gem to get it repaired/replaced was told repairing isn't possible so would need to replace. Not an issue to replace. Ordered this item in January was told 4-6 weeks to get it back. Still no issue because I understand with shipping and such. My issue now is its April, no updates, no sign of cabinet door, no communication. When we ask hey whats the update we get it should be next week this has happened 4x now. It's coming from one province over so I don't think they can blame shipping. I don't think their sales department has sent in the product for replacement. Refund and my door is what I want back and I'll get a real cabinet maker to get this job settled because they aren't cabinet makers they are cabinet installers and do not care for product unless they get the install part. Not a company I would suggest to anyone for repairs or installs.

We used Gem to design custom cabinets for our laundry room and had a great experience from start to finish.Our project was done during COVID and faced a number of delays, and we had a number of unique organizational needs and aesthetic preferences that required innovative solutions. Cynthia, our designer, provided invaluable expertise and helped us finalize a design that met all our needs. We did encounter some supply issues due to the pandemic, but they were clearly communications and we felt they were well managed. We couldn't be happier with the results.

My experience with GEM cabinets was top notch! They were punctual with all appointments, deliveries and installation. Martina was amazing to work with and had great feedback to help make my dream kitchen a fully functioning reality! The installer was very fast with a high attention to detail.We were so happy with our service here that we came back a little while later to have a custom office designed (thanks again, Martina!), which was stunning!Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were all professional and very patient with our slow decision making. Angie was amazing to work with as well as every staff member along the way. We love our new kitchen and would highly recommend Gem to anyone looking for a new kitchen.

Kristin Leachman was very helpful from start to finish. Even going the extra mile of making follow-ups to other materials handle by other vendors. Worth recommending.
