My son truly enjoyed attending the 2022 Summer Camp. The camp provided a sense of belonging and an environment where he was safe to share and learn his culture as well as have fun and build friendships. Lindon, Aaron, and Talibah are fantastic!

These ppl work hard within the limitations of our social safety networks to get more for those with very little. Don't go into the office expecting a miracle and you won't leave disappointed.

Turning Point Recovery Society
I have still not recovered from the abusive way Sheena treated me at the Richmond Women's house, which was a horrible experience. Sheena was supposed to be my counselor but constantly blew me off and acted childish and emotionally unhinged, and she even physically pushed me out of her way once.I wrote a complaint to the executive director, Brenda Plant, who then called me on the phone. I thought maybe she would be receptive and genuinely interested in helping to resolve the issue, but instead she belittled me and tried to invalidate and deny what happened to me.After waiting for four months to get into the North Shore Women's house, I finally went somewhere else when they gave my spot away to a girl who had been waiting for only one week.At the Richmond Women's house the other clients were hostile and took advantage of the fact that I was new by trying to make me do their chores and get me in trouble for things I didn't do. During my first weekend at the house, we had to go to a Narcotics Anonymous barbecue and I was abandoned there without a ride home even though I was on restrictions" which means that I was supposed to be accompanied by someone in the house at all times.Sometimes it seems the purpose of this organisation is to use people who are sick and vulnerable for financial gain and that is wrong. It makes me very sad and angry to think of people who have lost their lives to addiction after being kicked out of places like Turning Point or labelled as 'hopeless' and 'unhelpable'.There are some beneficial things about residential treatment

I owe my life to these superheroes. They did my heart bypass surgery and got me back home in less than a week. Extraordinarily well trained, excellent attitudes, hard working beyond comprehension. Thank you, Dr Salasidis and company. Oh, and anyone reading this, please give generously to the hospital. We have to keep this critically important aspect of our society flourishing.
