Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant
Unfortunately my experience was terrible with this restaurant. I called and ordered my food at 6:45. They told me it would not be ready until 8 PM. I understand, it’s Mother’s Day and they were very busy. I got to the restaurant at 8 PM and picked up my food. Came home open the box and the food was barely lukewarm. When I opened the lid to the gravy, the gravy was solid. None of the food was warmer than room temperature and some was cooler than room temperature. I called to let them know. The young lady answering the phone was very courteous, very kind and I believe she did her best to try to help me out. She went to talk to the manager and the manager said that next time I come in they would give me a free gravy. Really? That’s what they will do to make sure I am a happy patron. I ordered a combo plate and was thinking they might replace it? No. A free gravy is all they would do. I’m sorry I will never order from this restaurant again and I will be letting everyone I know of this experience. So sad that customer service is not important anymore.

Little wait, food for 3 ready in 30 minutes. Chicken wings were excellent. Had Cantonese chow minutes, fried rice, wonton soup, and chow mein. All very good and we're hot and fresh made. Would order again

Edit: Gave it a year and tried again. I didn't think it was possible to have less flavour than previously, but they managed it. Never again.Ordered food for delivery. Order was accurate, arrived in a reasonable time, delivery man was very pleasant. Frankly, the food was disappointingly bland overall; the egg foo young was okay. Chicken gravy was bland, beef lo mein was totally flavorless, almost like they boiled everything?! No complimenary white rice like some other local places. Would give 2.5 stars if an option but I don't want to actively hurt a business that might still be finding its footing....might try again in a year or so.

Ordered take-out. Opened food at home and it had a terrible fishy smell. Tried it anyways and it tasted terrible. All the meat had a very strange consistency. When I called, the owner got in the phone and argued with me. Said we didn't do anything wrong" would not offer refund or credit. Awful customer service. Will never eat here again. .Gave 1 star because 0 wasn't an option."

New ownership and doingA great job. Good consistency. Unlike mostChinese restaurants they have more meat and less breading! Welcome to Amherstburg. Only downfall, should be open 7 days.

Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant
Unfortunately, our experience was not a good one. Our wait was close to two hours for our order and when recieved was not made correctly. Our family has a severe allergy to mushrooms and whoever took our order wrote it on our bill yet our Chicken Chow Mein came with mushrooms. The other vegetables in the dish were hard and undercooked. We were very disappointed.

Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant
Wontons were nothing but deep fried dough with very very little meat. Chicken from chow neon was slimy. No rice included with anything. Terrible dinner. A waste of $60.
