The Loop

I am an avid knitter who is trying to find a new wool store after the closing of Dartmouth yarns. I was barely greeted and when I started browsing around I was ignored. The employees were more interested in their phones and I even tripped over ones shoes that she had off and laying in the middle of the floor. I have worked retail for 9 years and even if someone is okay to browse on their own this is not acceptable. When I eventually had to ask them for help they briefly pointed two wools to me and went back to their tasks, neither of these two wools were even close to what I was looking for. I am always willing to spend money to support local stores and buy quality wool but I will never go back to the loop.

The owner, Mimi, was very helpful. She carries lovely yarns processed locally, and had beautiful roving for spinning. A great little shop, and right in the middle of the portside area. I spun the roving as soon as I got home!

A great yarn store! Staff is always more than happy to provide suggested and input! Store is a bit messy & disorganized but other than that love shopping here!

Super sweet yarn and craft store with friendly staff and a great selection of yarns and notions for knitters & spinners and a smaller selection of embroidery and cross-stitch supplies.If you're a knitter or stitcher visiting from afar and looking for a crafty souvenir, you'll find lots of yarns from local mills & dyers (including Handmaiden Fibers) as well as locally themed cross-stitch and embroidery kits (including from local Hook, Line & Tinker).

Lots of lovely local yarns. They had wonderful advice and helped me get all I needed for a fun project that will be a great souvenir.

I really love this little shop. It has a selection of beautiful yarns you are unlikely to find elsewhere. all curated by Mimi the owner, who has a great eye for color and texture and quality. I've always been pleased with how my projects have turned out. Starting with great yarns and great advice makes such a difference.
