Lion's Camp Dorset

God lives here. The staff, the environment, the campers all were awesome. Dialysis and transplant patients can have a dream holiday while getting the care they need. From hiking to canoeing to wildlife this place had it all. A lifetime experience

I love this place!!! My family has been going here for the last 4 years to attend kidney camp. Being a dialysis patient does not allow our family much in the way of vacation. However, thanks to the Lion's Club we have a chance to go on a real vacation for 1 full week at a beautiful camp in Dorset Ontario. They have an onsite medical centre with onsite dialysis, wonderful community centre with an indoor pool as well as a small shoreline and dock with lots of water toys, boats, canoes and kayaks. Staff are amazing and there are plenty of organized activities for patients and their kiddies. Thank you Lion's Camp Dorset for giving our family so many happy memories! Hope to return next year!

I have been previledged to visit the camp for many years both as a dialysis and transplant patient. I can't even begin to describe what it has meant to me!I seriously feel that I would not be alive today if not for the camp and the people who run it. They have been amazingly helpful and caring since the beginning in 1980.Thank you all for your support and for giving me the incentive to move forward in my life. It has also given my family many happy and memorial memories.

I would like to thank the Lion's Camp Dorset and all the volunteers, for providing a wonderful retreat for dialysis patients and their families. We thought family vacations were not going to happen again after my husband started dialysis and then we were told about Camp Dorset. We have enjoyed great family summer times again !!! Thank you !!!

Feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to be at Camp this past week. It truly is a haven for those of us who have to go to treatments. Every detail was perfect from staff volunteers to activities. There are no words Lions to express my gratitude! A team effort of heroes .

Our favourite summer get away, when we are home in the city, this is where we long to be. Great opportunity for dialysis patients, onsite medical centre, friendly staff, indoor pool. Events each night such as bingo or potluck. Cozy cabins and a great firepit under a blanket of stars, experience all that nature has to offer.

Amazing place for families right near the town of Dorset. They have lots of water activities (kayaks/canoes/paddle boats) on a beautiful lake. Water is warm (for Ontario lakes) and you can kayak for an hour or more before you reach the end of Raven lake. Facility is kept in good condition and there aren’t many cottages around because the lake has a lot of crown land.

Our family was recently given the opportunity to visit Lions Camp Dorset for a week. There is no question that it completely exceeded our expectations! We have 3 kids (3, 11, 12), and they all absolutely LOVED their time at Dorset! The big kids loved the kayaks and canoes, while our little guy enjoyed the park and the pool. My husband did his dialysis treatments under the care of some of the most incredibly generous and good-hearted nursing staff around. Our cottage was perfect for our family, offering lots of space and more amenities than we were expecting to have. We had a great time at the potluck and bingo night, and we loved the group campfire that was organized as well. We hope we are given the chance to visit again next year- our kids have already asked about returning!

Our sixth year here, Deer Lake is a great spot for the camp. The cabins, called efficiencies where we stayed are excellent. If your like to kayak, canoe, paddle boat, fish or study nature, this is a unique place to experience the outdoors. The stars at night are a site for astronomers. Camp fires can't be misse. We stay a week each time.
