Claireville Ranch

Very nice little ranch. A hidden gem for sure. Horses looked healthy and happy. Good for first timers and kids, they offer lessons in the summer and have knowledgeable staff. Safety was important, which means a lot! I can’t believe I didn’t know this was so close to the city. Will be back for a leisure ride for sure.

Claireville Ranch is a great place for first or second time riders going on trail rides.Trail rides start every hour but be there 30 minutes before for registration. We got there at 2:45 on a Saturday but they managed to still get us in on the 3pm trail ride without a minute to spare. Each rider was $50. They accept exact cash and card.We rode horses Kansas and Karma and were together on the line. We were on the horse for an hour total and the trail ride lasted about 45 minutes. The hour included basic instructions on how to ride a horse and picture taking.Wearing a camera and taking pics during the ride is not allowed. Also, secure your belongings because they warned that we won't stop for anything dropped in the trail.We enjoyed the trail ride and were more focused on riding the horse than sightseeing. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We found great value in this experience so I gave it 5 stars.

Had an amazing experience at Claireville Ranch. The trail was beautiful, the instructors were friendly and knowledgeable. The price is pretty reasonable too.However, there was no washroom available for the guests, but they sell water bottles so you can wash your hands after the ride. And they don’t allow much time to take pictures with the horse. Before you get off the horse after your ride, you could ask them to take some photos for you on your phone but I doubt you’ll be happy with those photos lol. So if photos are a priority for you, might wanna consider another place.Otherwise, it was a good experience overall and I’ll definitely come back in fall.

Really nice natural area with trees, grass, and trails. Perfect place to try horseback riding. The price is very reasonable in my opinion. The trail is pretty long and includes little forest areas and hills. It’s very relaxing and all the horses are very well trained. 10 out of 10 experience and I’d recommend to anyone going and old.

Amazing experience! There were a few variations due to covid - first come, first serve basis along with breakfast not being an option. This wasn't a problem with us at all and may have very well changed in light of everything slowly opening back up. We arrived on Saturday at 9AM and were introduced to our horses by 10AM. The area is huge, so you can always take some time to roam around with your partner/friends. The ride itself was also great, we went through a few meadows and forests. Make sure you keep all loose items in your pockets or car, because backpacks were not allowed. Great experience with beautiful horses.

Amazing. My first time there I was with an older friend who has hip problems but was determined to ride. The staff were so respectful and compassionate and sincere. They helped her mount and dismount allowing her to maintain her dignity. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely return. Claireville Ranch is amazing.The horses are beautiful and calm, the trail was everything I hoped it would be and again, the staff were wonderful.

Amazing ranch for anyone wanting to ride a horse. They also have programs and classes for almost all ages and have an amazing staff.Would recommend!

Such a cute ranch! Exactly what you would expect to find in the country outside of a small town, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this place close enough to Toronto to be accessible by public transit. I came with my boyfriend and we had a lovely time. I was a bit underwhelmed by the trail ride, it was slower and less forest-y than I’m used to or would have liked, but that’s a bit out of their control. I was expecting more of a business focus layout, with a proper entrance/indoor bathroom, as opposed to a barn with a cash register and outhouses; however that doesn’t impact the riding experience. I think there are much better trail ride ranches in Ontario, but for one close to downtown Toronto, this is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful horseback ride. I do hope to come back at some point, but maybe pair it with more things to do in the area as it is a long trip for a relatively short experience (if taking public transit). Side note: the walk from the highway to the actual ranch is so lovely! It’s right beside a conservation area, so beautiful and colourful for a crisp fall day.

I had gone to Claireville Ranch and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. We went in a group of five and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We were a group of beginners and the staff helped guide us to feel comfortable and safe on the horses. The horses were well trained and extremely well behaved. It was such a pleasure to ride the horses on a beautiful trail. It was stunning. We cannot wait to go again. Great experience. Extremely friendly staff and the horses were amazing. I had Decoda, would recommend him if you were going ;). Amazing time. You should definitely go check it out!
