I had the pleasure of meeting Jean at a musky tournament last year. Being a musky guide myself. I really enjoy my time with Jean and learned alot off him. He knows how to locate big muskies! Looking forward to fishing with him this year!

Great experience! Musky John knows his stuff, has all the professional fishing gear and every musky lure known to man! First time musky fishing and been on tons of different types of charters, he’s one of the best! Caught a monster fish and he made the experience fun and enjoyable, would def recommend a day out with him!

I just wanted to share my wonderful experience with Mr. Jean Laprise. If you don’t want to learn about Musky, be educated by a pro and increase the chances of landing the fish of 10,000 casts, then please keep scrolling, if you do, please read on.I started fishing for Musky this year and am a shore angler, I’d had decent results for a newbie (5 fish before Jean). I started to have a slump from the end of the summer to early fall (I usually try and find some time to go every day). I started to explore the option of hiring a guide and taking a day for myself to try and learn as much as I could absorb about this beautiful fish and how to increase the chance of catching it, maybe even landing my first 50. I tried contacting many guides and everything fell through….this is where Jean unexpectedly steps in.I met Jean through a mutual friend and through his advice I was able to land one Musky and lost another on a figure 8 (about a day after discussing with him about what lure to use and how). We came to talking more and I learned that he guided, so giving it another shot, I asked if he had any openings. He worked with my schedule in order to book me in.The day of my trip comes and we are on the water, he checks over my gear, makes sure my knot is a good, strong one and then we get to work casting, all the while he is providing his advice, how to fish the specific lure I’m using and he works together with me to make my technique better and increase my ability. Jean doesn’t stop at gear, he is diligently scouring the water and teaching you what to look for, this would be a potential Musky spot because of this, etc. You get to learn the all the ropes on Musky from a gentleman that loves the fish to his core.After a couple hours and using his techniques I catch a beautifully chunky 50 and a quarter inch Musky, I would love to tell you my story on how it happened but I only get a certain amount of words to praise Jean and I’m almost out of them…if you want to learn, educate yourself and have the greatest chance at landing a dream fish, Jean is the guide you should book, highly recommended for your Musky adventure.

Great guy and even better guide, very knowledgeable and willing to share. I went into this trip with the mentality of trying to learn over trying to catch fish, so I opened up my ears and took in everything he had to say which has definitely made me a better angler since AND we got a giant. Amazing trip, will be doing it again at least once per year moving forward. Thanks Jean.
