I find dealing with this company way too complicated. I took over a rental and they actually wouldn't generate my bill until the landlord paid up their bill. I told them I didn't want to let the billing accumulate until I ended up with a $1,000 electric bill. I had to call several times. Sometimes their automated voice system hangs up on you. The prompts don't make any sense when you are a new customer. Plus the wait times are unreasonable. Emailing is just as bad, it takes days for them to respond. FINALLY I get through to them and I paid the landlord's bill. Next, I decide to sign up for online billing, you can't do this unless you know what amount was paid on your last bill. But, the account is actually in my name. My wife is out of town so now I have to wait until my wife gets back and then find out what was the last payment. Why do they even ask this? Does it really provide any extra level of security? I don't think so, it is just yet another frustrating hurdle I have to go through to deal with this company. It was easier to sign up for an online account at my bank, which should of course have the highest levels of security. Alectra.... you really need to work on making it easier to do business with you. I realize you have a monopoly but that doesn't give you any reason to deliver such poor customer service!

SUBSTANDARD customer service. Are there other options for in Barrie, because I can say that this company has the most unuseful staff. I called to inquire i the bill was now in my name as the tenant was no longer living in my property. I was simply trying to confirm move in informaiton and asked if I would be recieving a notification, via mail or email. Clearly, my request was much to complex of an inquiry. The condesending tone and unhelpfulness makes me naseous. The agent needs to learn customer service 101 which is - let's not be condesending or incapable of basic customer relations.

They told me my address didn't exist, when it was literally auto-completed in the form on their website. Their forms are extremely non-user friendly, their customer service representatives are unhelpful, and the entire experience with them has really left me unimpressed. What an awful company

We had a problem with our meter and they fixed everything efficiently. They even called us an electrician on December 23 to come in last minute to repair a wire inside our house. We would not have been able to find one on that day before the holidays. It was much appreciated.

Alectra has sent my account to a collections agency in error. They admit their fault and have done absolutely nothing to rectify the situation in which they created. Other than contacting the creditor they wrongfully sent my personal information to. This has caused me nothing but grief! My credit score has plummeted. Which has resulted in me having to have a co-signer for a new vehicle. With a higher than average interest rate. I can not obtain a mortgage. Which I was in the process of doing prior to their error. The error caused by Alectra has undone all my previous hard work to be able to obtain all this and more. Worst company I have ever had to deal with. Whomever is responsible for this error should be terminated.

Extreamly rude, dont be bothered to go in because their trained response while downstairs waiting for someone is you can call from this phone". THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR CUTOMERS AT ALL

I had electrical panel upgrade today and guess what? Two guys arrived two hours later in two different trucks and unscrewed two bolts. And I have submitted application in May.I think we should do something about monopoly.Do not even try to tell about coronavirus because that guy were interacted like 1 feet apart.

This company is a JOCK!First you need to wait for at-least 1 hours if you want to contact any one, that if you were successful as most of the time the line will drop after 20-30 minutes.Ridiculous customer service. Been trying for a MONTH to arrange someone to come and install the new meter which will take not more than 30 minutes, only to be told that the waiting time is 6 week and if not contact after so we follow up. Covid was a disaster for some business like ours but an easy excuse for those who don’t want to do their job (Due to covid we have a long delay) SHAME!Never had any issue for our other locations in GTA. This company has the worst customer service ever! I don't get a bill in the mail and I don't get an email. I have tried to set up a login but it wont let me. they send my e-mail when the bill is past due. Tried to call multiple times and spent 30 min waiting to be cut off or not get through. Hopefully I can get through this month.
