The Spay Clinic

We've been taking our pup here since he came into our home and have had nothing but good experiences with the staff at this clinic. We haven't had any challenges getting appointments for timely situations, they don't overcharge for medications like some clinics, and our boy still gets excited when he realizes we're going to the vet. Also, the new facility is a big upgrade from their original location. Google Maps still has some challenges providing directions for some reason (not the clinic's fault), but it's a brick building on the corner of 112 St & 107 Avenue. There's usually ample parking along 107 Ave on the South side adjacent to the clinic.

Spay clinic was recommend by one of my friend to get my puppy spayed. They quote me lowest price and gave great care of gus. They are very professional and caring. They gave him shots as well which was very reasonable. I will highly recommend them. Now I know why they are so busy. I am going to take gus to them for future needs. They are the best.

I have my first appointment on July 17th I'll fill you in after that. So far I found the facility to be clean and well managed although the receptionist didn't greet my dog nor did any other staff member . They usually gush over any new patient Maybe she just had a rough day. Things got better. Once I had finished explaining my situation , and clearing up a misunderstanding, an appointment was booked. Not quite as soon as I had hoped but she explained that they were short-staffed. Totally understandable, these things happen. Just the fact that it's within walking distance from my home is worth the wait time, Will update after I meet the doctor.

The staff are all so friendly, patient and amazing. I just got my kitties neutered recently, and the process was so smooth. BEST quote by far for the services rendered. I always took my dog there while she was alive and throughout her diagnosis and treatments they were incredible and compassionate. Recommend all the way!

If this isn't your go-to place for your pet.....it should be. They are professionals. They quote you the lower rate and the higher rate and almost always come in at the lower rate or closer to the lower rate at least. They started just giving the most cost affordable spay or neuter then started doing teeth cleaning and shots and now are pretty well rounded doing tons of health procedures for your fur babies. I was quoted $7000 at a vet in my area. I paid just under 1100 here for the first procedure and I will pay about the same for the second procedure. Saving me 4800! Dr. West even flew in to perform the procedure on our little girl because it was a bit trickier. Highly recommend The Original Spay Clinic every time! Thanks to the vets and all the staff for their assistance and kindness.

Everyone was wonderful with handling my 5 month old puppy! She got lots of treats and love and didn't have an adverse reaction to her shots being administered whatsoever, in fact she seemed to have a lot of fun and acted as though it was a fun little game. ☺️ Really enjoyed her treatment here.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr McMillan, Dr West, and the vet techs at this clinic.I struggled for a long time to find a good vet for my cats, one of whom has always been a bit delicate. In my experience, many other vet clinics, especially the VCA ones, were very wallet-focused and dealing with them reminded me of being in the American health care system, where it could not be more obvious that hospitals were primarily a business designed to generate as much profit as possible.I switched over to The Original Spay Clinic back when Dr West, the founder, had not yet retired, and he took such excellent care of my cat Eevee! It was clear that this clinic was his whole life - you could tell that this was his calling in life and he truly loved what he did. He was the one that spayed Eevee; her incision was so neat, lined up perfectly, and well stitched up, there was hardly anything to see even right after her spay. It healed up so well and quickly, you can't even tell where the incision was. I took it for granted back then because Eevee was my first pet and I didn't know any better, but lots of friends I've talked to have told me that that is the mark of a very skilled and experienced surgeon. Dr West still comes back part-time to work on surgeries, even though he is retired.Dr McMillan has been working with and learning from Dr West for a few years before she took over for him, and after having her take care of my cats for many years now, I can confidently say that I trust her as much as I trusted Dr West, and that is the highest compliment I can give. She is extremely knowledgeable and always on the ball, and takes the time to really listen to all ofyour concerns. She is another one of those people that you can tell sincerely loves animals and loves her work.I also have to mention the vet techs at this clinic. You will not find a better team of vet techs anywhere else. There was a bad incident with my cat a while ago that if not for the intervention of one of the vet techs, would have needlessly cost me thousands of dollars (if not more) and had very negative consequences for my cat's health. There have been many other instances where I noticed and was impressed with the vet techs' competence and meticulous attention to detail, but this was the biggest one. The vet techs here are very dependable and trustworthy, have a lot of integrity and compassion, and are exactly the type of people I would want to be taking care of my pets.I am so impressed with and thankful for them, and for Dr McMillan.

My cat isn't easy, but you took care of him, and the CFIA form was flawlessly filled up, and you even knew I had the wrong one and needed another one.I owe you in more ways than one, thank you for being the kindest and the best while somehow having such low prices that pet owners can feel they can have the best care in the city from people who care about the animals first, not profit.Thank you for all the good you do. ❤️

This was my first experience with this clinic, after hearing great things, and I am very pleased with everything. They took excellent care of my dachshund Molly for her dental surgery and I felt comfortable knowing she was in good hands. I will definitely be using this clinic again and I would highly recommend it to others.
