The receptionist at the front desk is very condescending and rude. My father is in bad mental health at the moment and she was very disrespectful to him when preparing the papers for the court reading.My father was a bit nervous and lost and she made him feel like trash. I told her to treat my father with respect, because my father is not in the best shape, she responded by saying: “if you continue you’re going to go outside”. Then she told the guard to make me wait in the hall. The guard was very nice, he was just doing his job and I wasn’t there to start problems so I just waited in the hall.I couldn’t even be there to support my father and brother. There should be a more professional employee working at the front desk who can empathize with people and treat everyone with respect and dignity. The judge was courteous and fair.

Over the last year I have NEVER been able to speak to anyone over the phone. On a day where I make it my mission to reach them, I can call every few minutes, and it says all the lines are busy and hangs up on me. All day, everyday.They accept e-mails now (June 2019), so I was pumped and e-mailed them my question and they replied that I should call in. That's it.They are the most unreachable public service I've ever dealt with!Calling them is like a cruel exercise in futility. They hold so much legal power! It's infuriating and discouraging!I suppose the only option is to take time off work and find a physical office - though with the way their e-mail and phone lines are managed, the office probably randomly changes place and when you finally track it down it's an empty building with a lone sign in it, telling you to call their 1-800 number.DO better! Our housing and lives depend on your services!

The agent assisting us refused to communicate in English after we told them that our French was not good. As we struggled to explain our case he hurried us despite that we had reserved a 30 minute- appointment. In a bilingual country I would expect my right to seek help in English is respected.

Tried multiple times to get a hold of them on the phone, and got the automated message each time saying all their lines are busy and to call back later then the line getting disconnected.After multiple attempts, finally succeeded talking with someone, but the customer service was terrible. I asked the guy for some basic advice into what kind of proof to bring on the date of the hearing and he said he couldn't tell me and that I had to decide myself. He also responded in a way that made me feel as if my questions were stupid and I could tell he just wanted to end the conversation as soon as possible.Disappointing customer service on top of it being so hard to actually talk with someone from TAL!

Whatever others are saying here I don't understand. I was ruled against my landlord and lost my case. However my landlord proceeded to harrass me in vial ways. Every single time I call, each representative takes my concerns with upmost importance. They make me feel heard and protected.They have given countless resourses to help me and I am currently pursuing those actions.How kind, well mannered, informative, and sympathetic they have been is what has been restoring my faith in the justice system. Thank you for the work you do.

Went in as a defendant 2 weeks ago after I sent my landlord my refusal to increase my rent by 212$(22%), after a fire occured last summer. The result was that my lease was retroactively resiliated in July 2022"

The receptionist at the front desk is not nice and professional at all. She asked the people to wait in the waiting room after the registration for the hearing. One lady said 'Yes, I know.' And the receptionist replied to her back 'Now finally you know!'

Wrote 3 separate requests with a very simple question to clarify the jargon on their website. Each response I received was even more jargon-y than the last.

Hands down biggest joke of a establishment. Unprofessional with no heart and no logic. You do everything they ask, in order and by the book and it is never enough. Tenant destroys apartment and admits it and the judge laughs and says “that’s what it is to be a landlord.” Bravo.

I don't get it. I went on their website to schedule an appointment, when I pick the location and time, the website tells me that there is nothing available for this day, I checked EVERY SINGLE day on the calendar they gave me and for every single day there was NOTHING available, I could not click anything. I've been trying to reach out to them over the phone for DAYS and get nothing but the automated voice messages and there is no option that allows me to speak to an actual HUMAN BEING. It is impossible to reach out to them! What am I supposed to do?? How do I talk to these people??????????
