Very nice restaurant on the Drive. Brought my family here for Mother's Day and ordering the ohana menu certainly didn't disappoint any of us.

My new favourite restaurant for quality drinks and delicious fusion food. Our server Michelle was phenomenal and very helpful when it came to recommendations. The food is served as small dishes meant to be shared. We especially enjoyed the squid luau and kimchi dip. Can’t wait to visit again!

Had tasting menu. Dessert with Philipino cheese is must have paired with Sake made in Richmond that closed down.Simple and WELL DONE!!Service was GREAT!! Friendly and confident suggestions for food

My husband and I went with some friends to try the Ohana menu at Hanai on Commercial Drive. Ohana is a Hawaiian word which means family"; the menu is aptly named as it is a Family style multi-course tasting menu. Oh wow...what a tasting menu! Multiple courses with multiple dishes within each course to try.Favourites:Cucumbers with a furikake sour cream dip - We all loved this dip

Amazing spot! Came for my birthday with a party of 6 people we literally tried the whole menu plus the special for the night and every single dish knocked it out of the park, our favourites were the miso carrots, pork chop, and cheesy rice cakes. The wine and cocktail list were also outstanding. Great and friendly service! Can’t wait to come back and enjoy some drinks and snacks on their patio!

this spot has been on my list for quite some time, and i’m so glad we finally got to try.very warm and friendly service, we had the tasting menu option to try a little bit of everything - highly recommend! the potato salad, half chicken and the chocolate mochi cake were delicious.will be back for more!

Went late summer last year and food was mediocre. Tried everything on menu except for two dishes. Crab noodle with no visible crab..crab scented noodles?

I had the best time here! The service was excellent!! I sat at the bar cuz the wait for a table was over an hour long but the bartender was the best host! He made some really great recommendations for us. The kimchi dip is amazing!!! Ask for more crackers if you run out. All the food that we ordered was amazing! And the slush drinks also great!! Loved the whole vibe of this place! Definitely would come back!

Gem on Commercial drive serving Hawaiian fusion cuisine. I've stopped by a few times for the Apero wine events, but this my first time for dinner and will definitely be back.Dishes are served in a minimalist presentation and let's the food speak for itself. The highlight of the evening is the Huli huli chicken leg cooked to perfection! The furikake rice is just beautiful with texture and unami in each bite that went perfectly with the chicken. The beet salad was delicious as well. We also had the manila clams that was probably the weakest of the night as it was a bit too simple as a dish you would cook at home.Cocktails were on point and well balanced for flavor and alcohol profiles.Will come again when the menu changes!

We used to order Hanai items when they cooked out of a commissary and we finally made it to their restaurant for a meal. Simple dishes that highlight local fare with Hawaiian flavors. Each dish we ordered was wonderful!
