BC Dumpling Festival
Nice event but as stated above lines for food were crazy with supply problems and high prices. My wife waited 45 minutes in line. They'd sold out of dumplings once reaching the front. Instead we ordered fried rice, chicken skewer and a bottle of water for almost 30 dollars a plate which is way higher than I'd expect for a community event... I applaud the volunteers and hope this becomes an annual event but it needs some fine tuning. Had a great time regardless, Lafarge is a great venue.

Wow, blown away by this first time event! What could be more better than a celebration of diversity and food?? Volunteering for this well organized and successful event was the best experience ever. Amazing stage performances (especially all of the young performers- CYO, Martial arts, cultural dancing), reminds me of Expo 86. Excellent selection of food vendors (not the same old macaroni and corn dogs), and local artists. Can't wait to be a part of the event next year!

I'm in Toronto, and I wish I could have attended. Seeing the social media photos and national news coverage, this is my type of Food Festival! No, I'm not Asian, but I stand up against Anti-Asian Hate, and I would have gladly waited in line for hours because I want to support this deliciousness of deliciousness! And seeing the cooks wearing gloves, and some wearing both masks and gloves (a true form of respect for their customers) and taking their time to prepare, yeah, I would have waited for hours; I wouldn't complain because delicious dumplings must be prepared delicately, this isn't some fast food joint. Our food festivals in Toronto, a few cooks might wear gloves, but no one wears masks. I wear one (I'm a cancer patient), I get ridiculed for protecting my health, so I don't attend any food festivals in my city due to the cruelty of Torontonians.Congratulations, Gina, for turning asomeone's lemon into a Dumplings Festival! And congrats to all the vendors and cooks, I will try my best to attend next year!

My family and I attended the Dumpling Festival and were pleasantly surprised how well organized and fun this event was! From the food options, performances, artists, kids area, local businesses and community partners, there was something for everyone. Most importantly, this brought the importance of diversity and inclusivity to the forefront of our community of Coquitlam. Looking forward to next years event which I’m sure will be even better!

I’d have liked to give a higher rating because I love this type of Free-admission family event and support more such positive-Asian-awareness type venue. However, after the initial excitement at the food options, it quickly subsided after an hour of lining up for food. And the long lines were literally intertwined, with no barriers set up. Thank goodness the crowd was very civil and self-organized. One of the vendors were ordered from wasn’t as organized and gave orders out to whomever complained. Since this is the first year, I’m sure future events will be much improved. So, good first try!

It is a great event and well organized. The event includes food, performance, art exhibition, and kid fun education booths etc. We will anticipate in the more similar events coming up and serve the people and communities in our cities. Very appreciate the great efforts made by those event organizers who bring the happiness and vigor back to our daily life after two-year COVID pandemics.
