Professional staff and very attentive to detail. Funeral director Ian Moore very experienced and his attention to detail unsurpassed. I was a funeral director for 35 yrs, practiced for 10 yrs. in my opinion, they have excellent embalmers. My mother in law looked great. We had a Catholic Church service. They know how to run one.

my family and I have had a very hard time, we lost our mom and brother in the span of a month. Tompkins was up for the task and we are very grateful for their services. Myself, I dealt with Karen and Mackenzie, two thoughtful and caring staff. My niece and sister met with Daniel who I'm sure was just as caring. We also had The Venerable Bill Clarke Archdeacon of Kingston officiate over a graveside service for both my mom & brother. Bill was also up for the task. My family is very thankful to all the staff at Tompkins, there are others who assisted us inside and at the gravesite...thank you.

My personal experience with the staff was above and beyond. Mackenzie and Daniel were very personable and understanding. They took care of the details, a lot of which I did not even consider after my father's passing. The facility is clean and bright, and appropriate measures were in place to follow covid-19 safety protocols.

Just before Christmas unfortunately I lost my mom. Thankfully all her arrangements were already made.I just want to say though the care that was shown to us during this extremely difficult time was beyond our expectations. Our Funeral Director(Karen McAnerin), made sure we understood all the steps we would go through, she explained to us what we needed to bring in for the service, she asked us what we needed and let us know that she was available at anytime if we had questions. Karen treated us dignity, respect and empathy, she made sure everything was perfect for us. The entire staff was very kind and caring.

Our experience with Tompkins Funeral Home was excellent. Mackenzie and Karen were professional but also very caring and comforting. We live over an hour away from Kingston and Mackenzie even came to our home to help with the planning and paperwork. (She lives near us.). With some covid protocols in effect we were still able to have a nice, personal funeral for Mom. Thank you Mackenzie, Karen and everyone at Tompkins.

I was warmly received and Tim Bailey and Mackenzie took care of my paperwork. It was a beautiful, sensitive experience, although I was shattered to lose my husband I know he received the best of their services in his care. Thank you team including Ian, Michelle and others who were so kind.

Very very disappointed !The care of my mother’s remains and death notice was a total disgrace to her memory. Had to call to get it corrected! Bought four urn necklaces that were not sealed (outsides of them covered in her ashes), one came open and I lost my mother’s ashes ! Urn was not properly engraved . Never ever again!! Do not trust this place now! Three huge errors that has made my experience dramatically unpleasant and extremely upsetting . As if my mother passing wasn’t hard enough ....It is very disappointing and completely unacceptable! My family has used this home for generations....how could they be so careless ?

My Beautiful Mom passed away April 13th, I didn’t realize that she was still at the hospital on the 14th, once I realized this and called Gordon Tompkins, Karen was right on it, she called me within 3-5 minutes, understood the mix up in my doing, as I gave the hospital Glenhaven Memorial information and thought all was looked after, from the minute that I was dealing with Karen, I felt at ease, not only did someone cared but she knew exactly what to do, she handled everything with love and care, I felt zcomforted throughout this whole emotional time, she was so understanding and she was always there for me, 24/7 as she told me. She was a gift to me to help me through, I felt like my Mom sent me an Angel, I really needed that extra special touch , I am so grateful to this day with having Karen by my side. Laura reached out to me too, she made my Mother as beautiful as she was in real life, she looked so peaceful and absolutely amazing, this was a huge comfort as well. The staff was very friendly and compassionate. I will work with Karen again to get my Dad’s arrangement. I cannot say enough about this positive experience that warms my heart, while dealing with Gordon Tompkins during the most difficult time of my life.
