Excellent service. The car was impeccable.

Montreal airport location. My overall experience was good, however there was construction going on around the area and it was very difficult to find where to return the vehicle. There are visual NO SIGNS for directions to the return center. I would recommend leaving extra early for returning vehicles at this location. Very poor experience for returning vehicle. I’m disappointed with National Rental Car.

Gave me a pickup truck with only 1/3 of a tank of gas and claimed it was full" and charged me $10 to add a second driver even though it should have been included with my Emerald Club status. Also it was clear they made very little effort to clean the vehicle as there was stuff smeared all over the inside of the windshield that I had to clean myself.EDIT: after I reported these issues to care@national I did receive a refund (without explanation) for the second driver charge plus some amount

I never received a rental agreement, but I did get a final receipt.

Car was fine. However, beware of potentially fraudulent and irresponsible behaviour by National Car Rental. They wrote that I had received a speeding ticket. The ticket was wrong, as verified by the municipality where the ticket was issued. National ignored requests to provide me with the ticket or to avoid withdrawing funds from my credit card before the erroneous ticket was corrected. They ignored all phone calls and e-mails. I am seeking further and appropriate recourse. Two weeks later, and I am still trying to get to the bottom of this situation. To avoid unnecessary headache, I highly suggest avoiding using National Car Rental.Update (21/06/22): Over a week ago, I was asked to contact their customer service and given an e-mail. They replied with a stock response and then radio silence. Still, no one has been in contact with me or done anything to resolve the situation. I have been advised to report this to the Better Business Bureau and to explore whether this amounts to fraudulent behaviour, as this situation is so dodgy. I will keep updating in case of interest to people considering National Car Rental and until this is resolved. If you can go with another car rental service, you 100% should.

Very very very verrrrry slow. I waited in line from 6:45pm-7:10pm just to speak to an agent. Then when all paperwork was filled out I was asked to have a seat while we prepare your car". Not sure what "preparation" is happening here

Nothing negative to report - as an emerald member the pickup is fast

This rental agency is terrible. The people who work here are rude, inattentive and lazy. I had called three days prior to a rental to cancel it because I’m a member of a flight crew whose plans were changed. Two weeks later I have credit card charges (multiple of them) totaling almost 2,000 USD. I called national several times to no avail. I figured it was a simple mistake because people make mistakes, no big deal! National used MY emerald number and credit card for several other people rentals on my dime. (This is stealing) After about three total hours on the phone with National , they told me the this local agency has to correct the mistake and corporate cannot correct it. They left messages for the manager at the local office and called several times. I called, nobody answered and I left several messages. They never called me back to rectify this. I had to report the charges as fraud to my bank and cancel my credit card. My bank may pursue legal action.Because of this, the company I work for decided to delete National as one of our preferred vendors costing them hundreds of rentals each year and me personally, I’d rather hitchhike than give them business.If there were zero stars I’d give it to them. Absolute worst in customer service and plain old lazy and rude. Please walk past them and go straight to their competitor.

Rented a car through a third party at National and when we arrived there were no cars available. We were told to take an Uber to our destination and come back the next day and they would reimburse us. After trying to charge us double what was on the contract they charged our card twice and then only partly reversed the higher charges after complaining. We were never reimbursed for the Uber rides and ended up paying about $300 over the contracted price.
