Northern Windows and Doors

My honest review with Northern Windows and Doors (NWD). I've waited almost 2 years to write a review in hopes I would feel better about the work done and service received. The total cost was $61,149 ( windows, doors, insulation, siding) . The reviews for this company appeared to be good, they had a bunch of Timmins people choice awards on the wall I felt confident at the time I was going to get good work done. I refinanced my home to get these needed renovations. The cost of the renovation cost more than what I purchased my entire home. I found it odd that they did not want to give me a break down of the cost of each item on invoice/contract. They told me they never give breakdowns with exact costs to customers. They assured me the work was going to be great, they were going to send 3-4 guys the work was going to be done quickly and efficiently. During the quote that assued me there would be no more green left, and that they would move my deck tempoarily to do the siding. Due to my location being in Cochrane they also said I was paying more for labour, as men will need to stay at a hotel.The work began in Oct 2021, first thing that bothered me they did not place a tarp to protect my lawn from glass, nails, sharp aluminum.... they left my yard a disaster for 3 weekends in a row. I've been picking up glass and nails. Also they only sent 2 guys, when they told me 3-4. Shouldn't I have gotten some labour back? They also did not factor in facia in the estimate, I thought that was included as I was clear I wanted no more green or white left from the old exterior.... I had to pay extra for that.... first wind we got the new facia blew off scratching the side of the new siding. They said its just dust. It is not.They did not pay attention to detail as much I would have hoped for $61,149. My corner windows are unleveled. By 1/4inch. They said there is nothing they could have done. They trimmed the inside window trim so it wouldn't be such an eye sore...The siding is warping in some areas and was cut to short exposing red tape from foam installation. They removed my old outdoor electrical plug ins I rushed to buy new one, for them to not install them they said we are not electricians. They Were not going to remove my deck like they promised we had to figure that out on our own. They stopped the siding on my deck it looked ridiculous. I had to call them that's when we moved the deck ourselves.When I notified them of the siding worping last fall, and the exposed red tape. They asked to send pictures said they would come. Then they sent another email saying they would come on spring.... still waiting.Would not recommend them they have buttered me up to get my money. Very disappointed. I also had other people quote me after and got quoted $20,000 less.
