I ordered a new Chess set from Strategy Games Online. Due to covid -19, I did not open the set for several months as I had no one to play with. When I did several months later I found that they had sent me a used set and what was worse, the white king was missing. After months of being promised a new king ( never mind a new set), nothing has been being done to correct the situation. I would suggest not buying any product from this store .

Decent selection. However, the 1 star is mainly due to my frustration over not being able to return a game we purchased as a gift. Gift was bought and needed to be returned after it was discovered that someone else had purchased the same gift. It was difficult to return, due to terrible business hours. When the return was managed, it turned out only store credit was available. So we ended up with a voucher and they ended up with a game to re-sell. Not good business. We wanted a gift for a friend not an obligation to spend this money only here.

Tiny store, everything is overpriced. Thats what you could expect from Englinton neighbourhood game shop. i was there on a regular Sunday an trying to look for a game with my little brothers and the manager basically kicked me out of the store because they were doing inventory today" and "we were getting in the way""

I've been going to Strategy Games for years. Their selection of chess books (new and used) is excellent, as is their selection of equipment. Living in the west end, it's not the most convenient location but it's always worth the trek.

FEDEX SERVICE EXPERIENCEdropped off my FedEx package at 4:40pm when last drop off time for pick up same day is 5pm. They told me my package would be shipped that day but They did not get FedEx to take it until the next day making my package late.

Tiny store with a small selection of overpriced games. A year ago, you could have argued that if you live nearby it made sense to buy a game here instead of going downtown to enjoy the low prices and great selection of 401 Games or Meeplemart. But now that Snakes and Lattes Midtown is only a 10 minute walk away, who's willing to buy Hive for $50 instead of $35? Strategy Games' one remaining niche is that half of the store is an impressive collection of chess sets.

If you’re in the unlikely scenario of being bored and not knowing what to do in the big city, go to Strategy Games on Mount Pleasant in the Davisville area, and ask their staff for a suggestion as to which game to buy. They’re surprisingly quick at finding the games they suggest in what seems to be a slightly disorganized pile of games. What’s nice about this particular store is that it’s small, and certainly not as overwhelming as some other games stores in Toronto. While their collection is much smaller than some other stores, that simply means they don’t have as much bad games as some other stores; they have all the classics you’ll ever need for a rainy day in the big city. Their prices are also better and more reasonable.

Went to pick up a 'good' chess set. Owner was super helpful in helping us pick out the pieces and board that was best for us. It looks and plays beautifully.

If you have a responsibility beyond your own business, to receive and ship FedEx packages, and you have publicly posted times of service, DON'T CLOSE EARLY. Most people who work a regular job, finish work at 5, which means they wont get a change to make it there til 5:30. I have a package that I NEEDED to pick up same day. Got there at 5:30 and they were closed. There were 2 other people who were behind me just as shocked and upset as I was not to be able to pick up their packages. Not to mention they don't open their business til 11am. I now have to go out of my way again to pick up this package which I already should have had. That being said, this has nothing to do with the Strategy Game's store itself.

They were the only shop in town which had Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective. They're able to get more other games pretty quickly. They're also not-for-profit and help fund chess camps and tournaments.
