This is a basic store. If they really wanted to improve on the look, atmosphere, service in some ways, and selection of products - they would aquire more space and expand. They are obviously not thinking of that or don't want to do it. It's a good corner store" feel

Vegetables are always overpriced. Good Bakery sections. T&T brand potstickers are really bad, the fillings are peas, corn, hardly any chicken or pork fillings and bland flavours. Costco Pot stickers Chicken with cilantro ) are awesome flavourful of taste and price wise.

Riley's Your Independent Grocer Ottawa
One of two (Loblaw Group) Independent supermarkets I frequent as this one is also on a bus route (111) that runs near my house. It's a little smaller than McDaniel's Independent on Grant Carman, and it's inside Billings Bridge shopping centre without an external entrance so it closes at 9pm on weekdays and earlier on weekends, but McDonough's Independent is still a convenient store for me to go to if I want to do a one-two shopping combo punch with Walmart or if I also want to go to the LCBO just a few stores down within the mall.The obvious question here is, If there's a Walmart with a grocery section within the same mall

Prices on the lunch combos have gone up. Long gone are Toonie Tuesdays - even now prices for the combo 3 piece and and side are up from 7$ to 8$. Shame. Won’t be back

Worst independent I’ve ever shopped at. Produce is always in some form of decay and is quite literally left out in that state for up to a week on the display (rotting asparagus, moldy broccoli). Bread we bought from the bakery was overrun with blue mold 3 days later, mini cucumbers lasted slightly longer but are also now moldy. And this isn’t an isolated incident. It has consistently been like this for the month and half I’ve been shopping here since I moved.Now I just go up the road to Wilson’s Independent. There’s a great improvement in quality there.Aside from horrible produce management, staff are generally friendly, so I’ll give them that.

Watch your prices. I stopped for chicken strips this afternoon. I ordered 10 chicken strips and was told that the order would have 9 but that it’s the same price. I pointed out the item clearly displayed on the in store menu but that didn’t seem to matter. I mentioned that it’s illegal and maybe we should consult a manager. He shrugged his shoulders and packed the order. I got home to find 9 chicken strips. So I guess consumer protection laws don’t apply to Independent Grocers?

Just left this grocery store. For absolutely zero reason the cashier was sooooooooooooooo rude. Rude rude rude.I told her I needed to purchase a second bag to her reply “ ya ya “ with an eye roll. I then asked her for the receipt, she rolls her eyes again and shoved the receipt into my hand. Before I could even say “ have nice night” she walked away from her till to go chat to another coworker.If this is how you’re going to run your establishment, I will not be back.But before I depart from your ratchet location due to rude workers, I will make it public on all forms including tik tok.Your staff need a brush up on customer service BIG TIME. Absolutely disgusting

Good grocery selection and I like how the staff can help load heavy grocery items into your vehicle - not many places seem to do this anymore!
