Neat Scotch House

Great people and an even better show! The Neat Scotch House team brought a little piece of Scottish history to our back yard and we all loved it. Highly recommend the small group themed tasting package if you are interested in learning about the history of scotch with the added pleasure of multiple cocktails and scotch tastings throughout the evening. Would be happy to have them back again and would recommend to any friend or fellow scotch lover!

The Neat Scotch House was such a different and great experience! They were professional, punctual and informative. We were able to taste, talk and laugh. I would highly recommend this mobile service if you are looking to be introduced to scotch or if you are just a lover of the drink.

Review of Neat Scotch House Presentation and TastingWe are a group of Single Malt Enthusiasts who have met monthly from January to November with an occasional “outing” in December, since February 2005. Seven of our members gathered to try the offering of Scotch and Scotch Cocktails as a diversion from our regular monthly meetings. This was a “last minute” arranged get-together at the request of the members.We had been doing some research on a potential outing and uncovered this small business that specialises in providing an “on-site” Scotch experience in the city.After speaking with Bryan Brown, the owner of the business and getting an understanding of their offering we put this option to the members and they agreed to go ahead with this experience.Bryan and Tina arrived on-site and on-time. They set everything up in preparation for the tastings.Their original presentation was to provide the Scotch Tasting and Cocktails paired with a charcuterie, cheese and fruit. We asked NSH to minimize the pork component of the charcuterie to satisfy those who prefer not to eat pork and they changed this to pairings with fruit and cheese and removed the meat entirely.We started off with their Neat Godfather Ginger Cocktail, consisting of blended Scotch, Amaretto and Ginger Ale, with Maraschino Cherries. Very pleasant and sweet start.The Single Malt Scotch Tasting were as follows:Lagavulen 16 Year OldDalmore Cigar MaltGlenlivet 18 Year OldBalvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean CaskIt ended with their Neat Sour Ginger Cocktail consisting of Blended Scotch, NSH Sour Mix and Ginger Ale.Everyone in attendance said they were very happy with the experience and enjoyed the evening.Their pairings of Scotch with Fruit, Cheese and Shortbread were excellent and enhanced the taste of the scotch remarkably well.Member comments:The program was very carefully prepared and nicely presented. I would heartily recommend Brian to anyone looking for a pleasant and entertaining evening.First, the concept of pairing foods to Scotches has never been done by us in the way New Scotch House did. When one discusses a scotch like the Dalmore and highlights the buttery, toffee-like finish, what an amazing experience to be served Scottish shortbread that actually mirrors those tastes. Same with mango and pear coupled with Balvenie Caribbean Cask. I, for one, truly enjoyed the experience. I found that Bryan was an easygoing guy, knowledgeable, ready to inform and dialogue, and appeared to have fun doing itThe choice of scotches and the order of tasting really helped to emphasize the differences in each as regards nose, taste, and finish. Brian provided a personal and professional touch to my 40th Birthday party for myself and 14 of my closest friends. A very authentic and educational scotch tasting experience. the setup looked great and the whole experience really made the evening feel special. Brian was very easy to deal with and we plan to see Neat Scotch House again in the future!

I had the pleasure of experiencing NSH's presentation at a birthday party last February, and while I've been to tastings before, this one was the best, most educational, and most unpretentious I've enjoyed thus far. Mr. Brown takes you through every step of the process of appreciating a beautiful glass of whisky, something that's more nuanced than meets the eye.He offers perfect food pairings, too, like fresh slices of mango and rich, dark chocolate.We also got to try a Caribbean" cask whisky and a beer aged in oak casks

Had a private tasting with Bryan and Tina with some friends and it was awesome. Excellent experience - Super friendly and knowledgeable, it made for a great night. Got to try 3 different scotches and their cocktails were fantastic. Highly recommend!

Had these guys show up for my surprise birthday party. The Neat Scotch House team were professional, knowledgeable and organized. They were also very flexible and adaptable to change as a freak thunderstorm came through and they had to react very quickly and adjust the tasting. But they did not miss a step! They also served us specialized cocktails they created in between tastings so they could reset for the next tasting. They were well versed and friendly with my friends and family. I thoroughly enjoy the experience for my birthday and I would definitely use them again! I highly recommend them as they are an amazing, local small business! Thank you!!

I attended a friend's birthday party that featured a whiskey tasting organized by Neat Scotch House. It was a really enjoyable and fantastic experience. Bryan was very friendly and approachable and more than happy to share his knowledge with everyone. He prepared a flight of 3 whiskies and 3 whiskey cocktails to enjoy between tastings. I am a whiskey enthusiast and found the tasting informative and a lot of fun. I would recommend Neat Scotch House to anyone who wants to experience whiskey with a knowledgable guiding hand.

Bryan & Tina helped us celebrate a milestone birthday. It was an absolutely phenomenal experience! They were knowledgeable and professional. They were both so engaging and made *fantastic* scotchtails!! Our guests had a wonderful evening. We can’t thank them enough!!

I had Neat Scotch house host a private tasting for my husband’s birthday and it was such a success! Everyone loved the welcome cocktailand tasting - really great price for the level of service and quality. Every guest took a business card and mentioned what a cool touch it was to a regular house party. So huge success!
