The Five Fishermen
An upscale experience for sure but I don't know that the food necessarily deserved the same? Pricing felt a little too expensive for what was served. Regardless the food was tasty and well made. Service was quick and friendly. Our waiter was so personable which made the restaurant experience feel less formal - because we certainly weren't.

Great first night Halifax, glad we decided on this place. The atmosphere was excellent, and just the right noise level for us.They were booked up and we didn’t have reservations so we sat at the bar. The staff at the bar were excellent, very friendly and knew when to chat and when to be scarce get seats if you have the chance.We had the 5 Fish Experience and it was great, everything cooked perfectly, though I will admit the portion was a tad small for my expectation.

First off, service was amazing. Our server took great care of us. However, portions were all over the place. $42 for a 3oz piece of halibut is nuts, and pretty sure the scallops crudo" was just 1 scallop thinly sliced 5 times - for $20. Crab cakes were very large by comparison. Overall over priced for the quality and portion of the food. Overly zealous "manager" constantly corrected staff in front of diners."

I had the pleasure of dining at the Five Fishermen restaurant and it was an incredible experience. The seafood was simply amazing - fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Every dish was a true delight for the senses.The atmosphere was cozy and premium, making for a wonderful dining experience. The decor and ambiance were perfect for a special occasion or a romantic evening out. The attention to detail in the design and layout of the restaurant was impressive, creating a warm and inviting environment that made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.But what really made our visit to Five Fishermen exceptional was the impeccable service we received. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure that our every need was met. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list, offering great recommendations that perfectly complemented our meal.Overall, I cannot recommend Five Fishermen enough. If you are looking for amazing seafood in a premium, cozy atmosphere, with impeccable service, this is the place for you.

Great beautiful modern lounge style dining experience.Food was amazing. We had a delicious lightly dressed ceasar salad with pumpernickel croutons.Our mains were a big bowl of mussels cooked it what tasted like a lightly sweet and savory french onion soup that paired well with the sour dough toasted bread wedges for dipping.The other mains were the five fishermen experience had a very savory mushroom based mushroom risotto, and the scallop grenoblise had very plump, juicy tender scallops.Our server was amazing, Laura. She was very accommodating, suggesting slight variations to the dishes to suit our taste, was also very friendly, attentive and had great attention to detail.Definitely one of the best seafood places in Halifax, definitely worth the extra money!

This place is fantastic! Was a recommendation from a friend. We were only in Halifax for two nights but after enjoying it so much the first night we returned. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. The whole place had a great vibe with friendly staff and excellent music. Our server Sydney was excellent! She made several recommendations and was spot on with each one. The drinks we enjoyed were The South End (gin) and Tequila Mockingbird (Tequila) and they were delicious!Food: Five Fishermen Experience, Arctic Char (was trout because they were out but was excellent), Oysters Rockefeller, Mushrooms Apps, Seared Scallops, Mussels, and Crab cakes. We did think the serving size of 3 very small scallops was a little lacking, but it tasted very good.I felt like my stomach got a hug after eating here! So good! Would definitely go back next time we are in town.

The Fiver Fishermen was a delicious choice. Their seafood we cooked well and the staff were friendly and took good care of us. The restaurant was quite clean and tidy, making it a pleasant experience.

The Five Fishermen
Overall a very disappointing experience. The decor is nice, the smell is the main dinning room was a little strong. (fishy). The portions for the price were very small. I usually don't mind small portions at higher end restaurants, but then the food should be excellent, or at least above average. We found the food to be lacking flavour. I had the lamb with a lobster tail. The lamb was cooked well but lacked seasoning and flavour. The lobster tail for $25.00 extra was no bigger than a jumbo prawn. My colleague had the Halibut which was totally dry and the overall meal was barely enough food to satisfy a child. Same with the appetizers. I had the Chef's Cesar and have had better at much lower end restaurants. My colleague had the clam chowder and he also found it below average. They did comp us a glass of wine each and a small dessert, but in in no way made up for a meal that cost us combine over $250.00 plus tip, especially when leaving still hungry. Service as attentive and have no complaints. they did apologize for the fry Halibut, but a glass of wine and a dessert just didn't make up for it.
