Whale of a Time Camping

Where to even start?! Our first night, we saw whales breach right from our campsite, we saw 5 stunning sunsets in a row, the smell of the wild roses waking us up, and the wild blueberries as snacks throughout the day. The small beautiful birds greeting us, and the sound of the waves putting us the sleep. But all of this is unbelievably overshadowed by the absolutely incredible owners. I’ve never met a harder working owner. They went out of their way to make sure we were so well taken care of. The bathrooms were INCREDIBLY clean, the showers were perfect. Just an absolutely amazing experience. We will be back and recommend this site to everyone.

I loved absolutely everything about this camping. Once you get to the office, it’s stunning. Once you get to the campsite, you’re out of words. Really nice trail(s) starting at the corner. Payment only by cash. Clean showers.

We rented the two bedroom cottage at “Whale of a Time” and it was amazing. The cottage was tastefully decorated as well as comfortable, clean and exceed our expectations.We had decided we weren’t going to cook so the small convenient store made this possible with their daily specials, pizzas, “made in front of you” sandwiches and delicious homemade bread, cinnamon rolls and baked goods. We also had breakfast and dinner at the Brier Island Resort/Inn which were great.Although not camping, we drove throughout the campground and the view, sunsets and ambiance was amazing. I believe they are all “off the grid”.Finally our hostess …Gail and her family, made an already great trip even better. Her knowledge of the area, her eye for detail and customer service was impeccable.Well done! We will be back!Jackie and Ed Doiron

We spent two nights tent camping here, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The view is amazing, and it was fairly early in the season, so we almost had the place to ourselves! The bathrooms and the showers were nice and clean! Be prepared for a hike to the top of the mountain for your showers though!

This is a wonderful campground! We drove from Texas to get to Nova Scotia and this campground was well worth the drive! Beautiful views and we enjoyed watching whales from our site several times. The owners are wonderful and the facilities were very clean. If you're looking for a laid back campground to enjoy the bay, stars and whales, this is campground is for you. Gail - thanks for a wonderful stay!

Gorgeous camping space! Very large tenting sites and absolutely beautiful.Tent just hundreds of feet from the ocean. Fall asleep listening to the waves or the whales! We were not there more than 5 minutes and saw 4 whales that hung around the area for hours! Bring your binoculars. Super clean washrooms. The only suggestion I would make is perhaps to add in a few activities on site that campers could participate in.

Incredible! One of the best if not the best campgrounds in Nova Scotia. Incredible views, friendly people, quiet, clean, and incredible service. It was our first time and we will be back many more times. They’re also so accommodating. We had to switch our dates twice. Once because of work that came up and the second time we had a family emergency days before. They were so kind about it and we are so happy we could finally make it! You will not be disappointed.

We stayed in the cottage and loved it. Views over the bay were spectacular! Gail and Reid are great hosts.

This was just a convenient stopover for us before whale watching but turned into it's own experience!The view of Fundy is incredible from all campsites. Our kids had a lot of fun exploring the shoreline (my daughter found and old corroded coin). Golden hour among the wildflowers and raspberries was wonderful!The sunset was beautiful and the lighthouse gave you the feel that we were camping right there at the ocean. Stay up with late with an evening fire and you might hear whales surfacing in the Bay. Without a moon, the night sky is quite dark so you can see the Milky Way quite well.Whale of a Time Camping was magic for us and we can't wait to come back!

Whale of a time is the most beautiful camp ground we've stayed at! We had a tenting site right on the water, and it was gorgeous. My kids explored the rocks, we watched the ocean and saw many sun fish wiggling around. They have goats you can feed, which my kids loved! There's wild blueberries to pick and a nice trail with beautiful views.Its so well maintained; the bathroom and showers were nice and clean. The sites were clean, and a good size.The owner is amazing and so friendly. She answered any questions we had and was super helpful.We had a very relaxing stay, and definitely recommended to anyone needing a place to stay in the area. The view and sunsets alone are worth it! This will be our go-to campground for our future trips!
