Driftwood Park Child Care Centre

This daycare is absolutely disgusting. Witnessed a little girl (possibly 3 years old) going outside with other kids and daycare teachers and she took off one of her gloves in -18 freezing weather. A teacher said “fine if you aren’t going to wear your glove then you can’t have it back” and took it from her. (Instead of putting it back on her as a mentor should do). The little girl was freezing. She then started to walk away and the teacher said no get back here, and grabbed the little girls jacket hood and the little girl fell with her non gloved hand in the snow and she started to cry. The teacher would still NOT give her her glove back. A man who witnessed this told the teachers. “Look why don’t you just put her glove on her”. And the teachers just snarled and snuffed him off.I am in shock and absoluately disgusted and pray that my child does not receive this type of behaviour from his school.Sincerely,A Devistated Parent

I have two children registered in before- and after-school programs. The staff are amazing, kind, caring, and very understanding of different personalities.As a very different example from the experience of the parent who observed a situation in the previous review, it happened that we had forgotten to pack a pair of mitts for my little one on what turned out to be a very cold day, and the ECE (Teressa) gave him her own (and only) mitts to keep them during the day. She made sure he was warm during the whole day and had her hands cold in order to help him out.The patience of the staff is expected in this field, but it should be acknowledged. The amount of distraction the staff deal with at any given moment... The number of games and activities they do with the kids to make sure they also cover children's wishes about what they want to play and do (on top of the curriculum they do follow)... The strictness when necessary and the supernatural calmness in some other situations... Just amazing. You guys are awesome.I am very happy with the staffing decisions made by Conestoga when putting this team together and will be forever thankful for the love and care they provide to my children.On the other side, daycare costs can be ridiculous, but that is the case across the board and is not Conestoga's fault.Highly recommended.
