Budget Car Rental

Whoa - I've never had an easier rental experience. Called in advance to see if they would have a mid-size pickup on hand (when do you ever get to speak to the local counter???) and was assured that if I requested one, there would be one. And there actually was. Arrived on an unseasonably cold morning (4° at 8am) and he had run the vehicles with the heat on to prep them for pickup. Called during my rental to extend the drop-off time by a few hours and not only did he actually make note of it (not always a given these days), but he worked me a deal on the extension WITHOUT ME ASKING FOR ONE. PS - my mid-size truck was a Ford Ranger XLT for less than $40/day AFTER taxes and fees. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it was actually this good.

FRAUD ALERT……Do not rent from Budget unless you want extremely fraudulent charges to appear on your credit card weeks later.We were charged excessive soilage fee of $450 for dog hair.No dog hair from us nor was the car cleaned prior to our rental too which Bryan was notified after we received the vehicle.We reached out to customer service only to be offered half off our excessive soilage charge by Mario and when I requested a supervisor he said one would call me back.Unfortunately no supervisor called us back so we reached out again to customer service and asked for a supervisor to reach out. A Supervisor reached out the next day and left a voicemail with a unconnected number too call.Priceless!So here we write this review to warn all of you good fellow travelers to look elsewhere for a rental as we unfortunately now have to precede with legal action against Budget rental car.Unfortunately we are not the only ones being taking advantage of.Renter beware!

We were called less than 2 hours before our pick up time to be told our minivan was unavailable. The reservation we had already paid for and the vehicle we were driving across country and have hotels paid for an booked was unavailable. Completely screwed for our standpoint, the guy at the Budget (He made a significant effort) was able to call around and find a minivan with just enough time to spare for us the get a vehicle and on the road. However it is unlikely that there was enough time for a proper maintenance check. As we were driving through an incredible AZ snowstorm we discover our windshield wiper fluid dispenser does not function, we find out later the pump works but the hoses were unattached causing fluid to spray inside the hood compartment and not on the desired location, the windsheild. In addition, as the tires were about 3/16 of tread life left on a 30k mile minivan, despite this we miraculously lived to tell the tale. We did however have to spend two additional unexpected hotel stays as we could not trust these tires on these roads. A brutal experience overall and we are unlikely to use Budget or Avis ever again

Rented us a car with expired tabs. Literally rented us an illegal vehicle. Calling the 1-800 is a joke. Super unhelpful and completely not customer centric. Was requiring us to wait for a tow truck to come pick up vehicle then take us 30 miles thru rush hour traffic to a completely different location to pick up a legal vehicle. Called actual location and had them bring a vehicle to their location for exchange.

The manager was very kind to me, a straight shooter which I appreciated. Im very confused about the negative reviews on here because that wasnt my experience at all. In fact I want to defend Brian on here. He has people coming in and out all day. People bring ing cars back low on gas, pet hair all over the back seat, verbal abuse and racial comments towarss him he shared with me directly. If youre giving this place a bad rating, you need to keep in mind a few things, 1 you wouldnt last an hour at his job and 2 these rental places not in airports dont have a ton of cars so you have to know what your getting yourself into. Its expensive but that doesn't give you the right to be rude or talk negatively when you dont get excatly what you want. I have your back Brian keep up the good work! I needed a car for a few dats since mines getting repaired, I onky drove it to work and back twice, He refubded all but $15 of my hold on my debit card since I drove the car less than 50 miles, kept it clean and filled it up with gas. 5 STARS!

I wouldn't have given this a rating of any kind because of Brian the manager. He is the rudest most unprofessional individual I have ever come across and I hope he gets fired from this job because he does not need to be dealing with the public or customers for your organization.if I wasn't the passive person I am, I would have pulled him from behind the counter and Dealt with him In the same manner he was treating all of your customers. I do and I have use your company multiple times throughout the years. That is no longer An option for me for me anymore I have decided to boycott your budget company Not only that I will not recommend you to anyone. One star I gave you I take back You're not even worth Rating.

My daughter went to college this weekend. I booked a reservation for a Friday pick up and Sunday morning drop off. I paid online with Paypal credit. I put the car in my daughters dads name for pick up. Her dad went there to pick up the car. They wouldnt let him because he didnt pay for it. Like I said I use Paypal credit online and I do not have a card for that. I told him to put the guy on the phone. The guy wouldnt come to the phone. I worked 13 hours on Friday betwewn my 2 jobs. I asked my daughters dad to get a refund. I heard the guy in the background saying he cant get a refund. Him and I both have the same last name. He ended up calling customer service. I did receive notice of my refund pending. But get this! The email was addressed to him, not to me! Even though I paid for it! I will never go back!

Rented a van I was told there would be a DVD player in it for my kids and it wasn't in there. On top of that there was a rattle in the tire the entire way and the brakes shook everytime we stopped. Last item was miles per gallon for our 2000 mile trip we had under 20. Usually with a minivan we are over 25. Vehicle hasn't been serviced correctly. Will not use budget again.
