So we tried this bakery for the first time today and I have mixed reviews. The Portuguese tarts are amazing. Possibly the best I’ve ever had. The pastry was so flaky! But the Cannoli’s were miniature. I’ve attached pictures but I’m not sure it’s clear how small they really were. I would return for the tarts but probably not for the other baked goods.

Stumbled upon The Station today while out for a walk in downtown Brooklin. Upon entering we were greeted warmly by multiple staff, who took our order right away and let us know to take a seat- they would let us know when it was ready to pick up from the counter. One mocha (medium size) and one cafe au lait (small size) plus a rum ball and one piece of tiramisu came to ~$22 with tip - very fair for hand made espresso drinks and baked goods I'd say.As far as the ordering process I'd like for some name tags to be added to the items inside the pastry counter. The lovely lady behind the counter didn't mind me asking about each item I was curious about though! It would be nice to have an idea at a glance of what is available- plus signage for those with certain diets or allergies/sensitivities. I also find the digital menu on the wall a tiny bit small/cramped as I had to get very close to the counter to read prices.I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee and the mocha was good as well, though on the very sweet side.Sadly the rum ball was on the softer side, and very light on rum to boot. I wouldn't recommend this; it feels closer to a rum flavoured cake pop if that makes sense. The tiramisu is actually a deliciously moist cake with tiramisu flavours - this was very good and I would recommend it, though I would argue it's not quite what I expected.Checking the website it mentions European flavours with Canadian and Latin influence. I'm curious to see what this entails, with hopes the offerings don't become too numerous and confusing.Very clean and friendly spot. I would give it a respectable 3.5 as there is room for improvement.

This is a cute spot. The sandwiches are great, the pastry are also great. Very friendly and welcoming staff and owner. Prices are fair. The Italian drink was delicious. There is space to eat in the bakery also.

So I just went to the station for the first time earlier today I ordered a cinnamon roll and a honey cake and I was told my total was $7.30. I paid with a $20 bill. As I was paying, I actually started coughing so I asked the cashier if I could add a water which was displayed to cost $1, she said sure and had to do a little bit of mental math, because she had already rang me up for the first part of my order. She then proceeded to give me the change as pictured, $8.65. I walked away, confused, but decided to go back immediately to inquire about the wrong change. The same cashier a woman in her mid 40s very dismissively said oh no that’s right change it’s because of the tax. I asked how much did a water bottle cost she said $1 and with tax it should be roughly $1.15. At this point she didn’t offer any solutions or to recalculate the transaction. It took a lot for me to even go back and articulate my concern to have the cashier be so dismissive. I attached a picture of the change I was given and the box I was given and the bottle of nestle pure life water that ended up costing me $4.05 due to the mistake. So my advice is either pay by card or watch your change because they aren’t great at math or correcting their mistakes. Shame as I frequent the nail salon two doors down every three weeks so I was hoping The Station could be a regular indulgence for me.
