Bruce Anchor Motel & Cottage Rentals

My partner and I rented a cottage for the weekend. We loved being right on the water and the sunset view was beautiful. Also fun to watch the boats and ferry go by. Though I just want to make a note that the cottage is pretty old and there could be some updates done on the property (new carpets/flooring, better lamps, updated bathrooms). I only mention this for the price vs. value. Great distance from downtown strip and grocery store!

I wish I could give them a ZERO star. I paid $3000 for the cottage I reserved. First of all, the pictures are probably from million years ago. As you walk in nothing looks like the pics. There is no equipment, not even the basic necessities. NO COFFEE FILTER, NO KITCHEN EQUIPMENT, NO BBQ PROPANE, NO DISH SOAP, NO DISHWASHER SOAP, AND MORE…. The list can go on for days!!!! We went to BBQ and there was no PROPANE and when we asked they said “ CUSTOMERS SHOULD BRING THEIR OWN PROPANE”……there is no supervisor to talk to and the girl at the front desk was from the other world cause she didn’t know anything!!!! She was NO HELP!!!!!! We have stayed in other motels pervious years and we were happy and this was our mistake to stay with this low quality motel!!!!

Service is excellent. Location is great to walk around town and get to all of the activities. Rooms are slightly updated but need some more work (lanterns, general cleaning). As expected for small town motel.

My room was in an off-site building. It was an older building but the room was clean and in good shape. The only negative would be a microwave would be nice and better quality towels as the ones in my room were quite old and worn.

We enjoyed our stay. The suite was very clean and well kept.We only struggled with the water being hard. Not what we are used to. But overall it was good. We really enjoyed our time in Tobermory.

Go anywhere else but here. They have absolutely terrible customer service. The room was small and way overpriced and washroom filthy. Definitely could have used a few renovations and upgrades for the amount that we paid. The worst part of the whole experience was the lady who barged into our room at 9 am while we were sleeping. She knocked and came in immediately without giving us the chance to get up or even respond. The same lady then came back a couple hours later knocking on our door 15 minutes before our check out time to remind us we have to be out in '10 minutes.' We know what time check out is and we have paid to be there until check out. I do not know what that lady's problem with us was but we were quiet and respectful the whole time. If this is acceptable treatment of customers, you will be out of business so fast. We love Tobermory and will take our business elsewhere and tell our friends and family to do the same. I still cant even believe the terrible treatment we received.

5 star for the room and washroom cleanliness !The hotel is close to the waterbody and you can almost see the sunset from the balcony or walk right across the street to sit at the lake.The city itself is tiny so the hotel is close to everything else, you can just walk around. Parking directly connects to the highway.Would be nice to have a microwave or a water heater in the room or in a community area but no complaints here.I hope they are always able to maintain impeccable cleanliness always.

The location is very nice as it is very close to the marinas of two popular cruise companies to flower pot island. Service was nice and everything was as expected from the listing on the booking site. The only complaint I have is the jacuzzi jets were dirty with visible mold which deterred me from using them.

Our room has 2 queen beds with partial view of the lake. The room has enough supplies for our 2 day stay so we did not ask for housekeeping service. There is adequate parking and the hotel is just across the street from the Flower Pot Island cruise boarding . It is also within walking distance from the business center.
