Chartwell Rouge Valley Retirement Residence

First of all was made to feel at home. The staff is friendly and caring. The food is good. I like the variety of activities Amanda works hard to provide fun. Absolute no complaints.

The retirement living consultant we worked with throughout our preliminary planning/pre-signing process was informative, helpful and most of all, empathetic towards our families feelings and concerns with our father. We felt no pressure to make a decision and it didn't feel like we were being sold" on Chartwell Rouge Valley. Instead

The quality of care given my mother has been excellent. The staff are all very friendly and respectful and do their best to make everyone feel at home and welcomed. My mother especially enjoys the daily exercise program, and the musical entertainment and the outings organized by the activity coordinator. Always excellent choices!

Our mother has been living at this residence for the last 11 years. Of course it's been easier the last 9 years, since there was lots of activity and mom was a lot more mobile. Now mom needs a little more help and care, and we were truly worried that during this time of Covid 19 she might not be very safe. When you hear the media talk about Retirement and Long Term Residences, you must be wondering if many homes are lacking care for the elderly. This is certainly NOT the case at Chartwell Rouge Valley. We are really pleased how well the home is rmanaged, even now , when Covid is still an issue. Right from the beginning the Management made certain that all the caregivers and residents were vaccinated. This included family members who were looking after their loved family members. My sister and I were fortunate to receive our vaccination early this year. During this difficult time the staff, and I mean ALL staff members , from their Nursing staff to Restaurant staff, Management and Administrative staff - everyone was, and still is, very accomodating. No matter what our requirements for mom are, all it takes is asking for help. We are so thankful that during this difficult time, the isolation of residents, the staff is always looking for ways to keep everyone happy. We were worried that mom might get up at night and fall - and nobody would find her until the morning. We no longer worry because she is getting night checks to ensure she is sleeping . We applaud all the staff at Chartwell Rouge Valley. The home iis managed in a professional manner, and all residents are respected and protected. The rules and regulations of the home are good and will continue to keep everyone safe and free of Covid. This of course takes every outside family member to do their part and get vaccinated also. I am so happy that my Mom is here. The staff are kind, warm, and friendly, yet very professional. They truly care about the residents. Mom feels safe and happy here. I can't get down to visit very often, but I know that she is loved and her needs are important to those who work here. It is such a gift to know that she's in such loving and professional hands. My mother moved to Chartwell Rouge Valley almost two years ago, after living in her Scarborough house for fifty-six years. It was hard for her to think of leaving her comfort zone, but when given the opportunity to visit Rouge Valley in Markham, Mom was immediately won over by the beautiful country-inn setting and by the warm and welcoming staff. She made the decision the first time she visited Rouge Valley to make it her new home.Within days of moving in, everyone on staff was greeting Mom by name and she began to feel like she truly belonged. Mom takes part in all of the excursions and particularly loves the musical entertainment. Lifestyle and Program Manager, Amanda Tatuc, listens to the residents' requests for places they would like to visit and things they would like to do and approaches all activities with warmth and enthusiasm. Mom thinks of Amanda as another daughter.I enjoy visiting Mom at the Rouge, but when I am not able to be there, I have complete piece of mind, knowing that she is taking part in activities that promote her physical, mental and emotional well-being, and that she is among many friends.

My mother recently completed a two week respite visit at Chartwell Rouge Valley. From my first phone enquiry, right through checking out on Friday we had very friendly and caring service from everyone. She enjoyed the food, activities and company. I would not hesitate to recommend Chartwell Rouge Valley and will certainly call them first if/when we need to move my mother. We moved mom into Rouge Valley just about a month ago. The move in was smooth and easy - thankful to the friendly staff and attention to detail of the GM. Love the layout of the property and looking forward to experiencing more of what Rouge Valley has to offer in the coming months.

We moved our mom to Chartwell Rouge Valley recently and have been really impressed with the welcome, their service, friendliness and professionalism. Moving in the midst of a pandemic is not easy, but the General Manager and staff made the process so easy for us! Their thoroughness with Covid-19 protocols is also commendable.
