Double Double Restaurant
After a long hiatus due to Covid, I recently revisited Double Double restaurant in Richmond for some late-night Chinese food. Despite the pandemic-induced changes, the restaurant remains same, food is good though the service is just okay as per always.The portions here are generous, and the food is fairly priced, making it a great value for money.If you're looking for satisfying Chinese food in the area late at night Double Double is definitely worth a visit. While the service may not be exceptional, the food always hits the spot, and the fair prices make it an attractive.

Best place for conge. Their Chinese donuts were huge, and it's great to eat with congee. The pan-fried turnip cake with XO sauce was quite bland, not as good as the other places I had. However, the servers are very friendly. Overall, it's a good experience and I'll prob go back again to try out other foods

Great food, place is clean & table service was quick - worked well coz we were hungry. We ordered waaaay too much food but for the amount we spent, we had leftovers for 2-3 more meals. Good value for our loonies.Just a note, some servers don't speak English so we had to use sign language" - point on menuWill be back to try their signature you tiao (chinese doughnut)"

It's okay. The so turnip cake wasn't what I imagined it to be (I didn't think it would be deep fried sticks) and the xo flavour wasn't really there. It was decent though as it was crispy and not too oily. The cha siu wonton lo mien wasn't my favourite. Kind of bland and the cha siu was on the dry side since it didn't have any fat. The wonton was okay but I'm not the biggest fan of shrimp. The crispy chinese donut rice roll wasn't crispy which was a shame. The yee mien was average as it was rather bland. The beef rice noodles had a lot of cilantro which I didn't like. Might be a bit of msg as I didn't feel too good afterwards.

This is for my own record. Had the food as shown all were fantastic except oyster. It had too much bread. Will order chicken next time. The total incl tip was approx $120 for 4 people.

We came here for dinner and ordered a value set menu with 3 main dishes and 1 rice paper roll.Food: The food portion was huge, so the two of us were only able to finish half of the food we ordered. The food was tasty but it was quite greasy. There is a huge menu selection of stable Cantonese style dishes, so there's plenty of options.Service: The service is acceptable but don't expect much - they didn't even refill my glass of water. The waitress told us there's a dish with a promo price for the day, but we had already ordered other food, so it doesn't make sense to order more or change our order. I wish the waitress was more attentive and could let us know the special dishes before we order.Also, they only accept cash or debit cards for payment.

Service isn't that good but the food was pretty good. The Chinese donut with the sugar is good. The waitress recommended a stir fry noodle with two different types of noodle was delicious! Their beef brisket dishes weren't bad as well. Not sure what the chicken dish was but there is a picture on the wall of it, it's served cold so if you don't like cold chicken don't order it. I would definitely visit here again when I return.

A bit of a wait; popular place in Richmond; reasonable prices. I thought the food was decent, comparable to any other fair-good Chinese restaurant. This place is known for its congee and deep-fried doughnuts - there are 3 kinds: long savoury, round sweet and round sour & sweet. I didn’t taste the congee, but bought a couple of the sour & sweet doughnuts to take out. I think there is fermented tofu inside. They were tasty, but not too fresh even though the waitress said they were made that day. Service was so-so; the waitress we had was rather rude when I forgot the Chinese word for a dumpling dish I wanted.

Fish congee cannot taste any rice inside, they put way too much corn starch inside. Fried beef noodles was extremely oily and tasteless. But their steamed rice rolls with mixed sauce is so smooth and tasty.
