Easy trails through meadows and woods to a perfectly pristine stone/pebble beach. Very quiet, easy to find, many trail options, impossibly well-marked, truly a hidden gem.

Stoney Island has amazing trails for cross country skiing and snow shoeing. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced trails are offered in a variety of distances. The trails are a series of loops that you can repeat with ease. My children, aged 10, 12, and 15, who are all new to cross country skiing this year, thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There were only a few hills, and if you stick to the Beginner trail these can be completely avoided. The trails run entirely through the bush and come close enough to the lake that you can snap a few pics. My family highly recommends Stoney Island Conservation Area for skiing and snowshoeing. A cost of $5 per family or $3 per person is required by drop box.

Hidden gem near Kincardine that is great for hikes with the family. During winter activities are limited to snowshoeing and crosscountry but at other times of the year it's open to hiking. There is a maze of trails for hours of walking through the forest, with a ton of signs to help you find your way.The beach is a great treat if you make it. Can get muddy so wear the right shoes.

Awesome place for some afternoon or morning fun! Grommed trails for skiers and some unbeaten trails for shoeshoers. Great if your just trying out the sport and don't want to invest in equipment or expensive rentals, the ski 'hut' has gently used retired gear to borrow for a small fee of $5. (Same as the trails) highly recommend and was really impressed by the Kincardine ski club.

Nice all year round walking trail. The colours in the fall look really beautiful! There are great signage for the different coloured trails that you can go on. In the winter you can go cross-country skiing. The views at the order are beautiful especially on a calm day!

The trails are nice very well cared for. This seems to the place for walking dogs off leash. To be avoided if you enjoy walking without being pestered by sometimes aggressive dogs. Since loose dogs are not my thing, 2 stars.

What a gem! This is a great little hiking spot to go with your family. The trails wind through beautiful forested areas and comes out to a nice beach on the lake. For a $5 donation you can spend the day hiking, biking, swimming and picnicking. It was created for cross country skiing so it would be a great winter spot as well.
