Lovely spot. Everyone was so welcoming and informative. I was curious about lots of things and the staff answered all of my questions and gave demonstrations as well. Lots of farm animals to see, and the grounds are nice to wander.

Staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable about everything on site. We took our 2 year old in the fall and this winter. He loved the animals and on the horse ride the gentleman driving the cart remembered my sons name. Which definitely made it special for him. Worth a drive to New Ross, it shows the kids what people used to live like and they can see and pet animals. We will be visiting at least once a season.

The folks working there were very knowledgeable and friendly! It would be nice to get more information about the animals and someone to talk to the kids about the animals. It would be nice if they could incorporate more information about the Indigenous people who owned the land before and what happened to them as well. There was actually no mention of the Mi'kmaq culture which was disappointing.

Loved all the historical buildings, artifacts, and costumes, and the staff was informative and friendly. Wagon ride was fun and my 3 and 5 year old loved it! I’m glad I left my 2 year old at home as you’d need a stroller, etc, so that age is a bit young for this (in my opinion).

Ross Farm is definitely a few steps back time. I believe the 100 years from 1816 to 1916. Described as an “upland farm” it really reminded of the similar farm that my great-grandparents built in the foot hills of North Carolina. Everyone was knowledgeable about farm life during that time period. It was an education and pleasure to attend. Well worth the drive.

Fun museum to explore and connect with nature. It’s open year round a most of the activities are situated outdoors. There is a wagon ride included with your admission of only $10. As we went to visit on a cold winter day, there were some portions that were closed off until the spring. We enjoyed exploring the captain’s house the most and speaking with the three ladies dressed in old timey attires and asking them questions about the house and the family who lived there. Not to mention the house was so warm, heated using the oven and the fireplace. We even got to try a ginger cookie and also some hot chocolate. There are also animals on the farm from sheep, oxen, chicken, pig, and rooster. It’s a really fun place to visit and spend a few hours and great for families or couples to get into nature and experience the olden times.
