This place is always my go-to for Chinese cuisine especially when I want something comparable to the Chinese restaurants at Markham/Richmond Hill.I’ve had the bbq here and I do agree with the other reviews that it’s a tad bit on the saltier side. The roast pork and duck was a bit overly salted and sauce was kinda like a soy sauce. Would prefer a mustard or sweet maltose sauce like the ones in upper GTA bbq restaurants. However, the rest of the menu is pretty solid and is totally shareable with friends and family.Lastly, if you have a dietary or allergy restriction I would bring someone who speaks Chinese to clearly state your aversion. It’s doable in English but definitely easier to communicate.

Went to House of Gourmet on my trip to Toronto, showed up on the later side and it was totally packed. Thankfully we were able to get seated relatively quickly.Overall, I thought the food was ok. I like the bbq pork and the fried rice but wasn’t a huge fan of anything else. Particularly thought the soup was pretty bland. They served our meat cold which I thought was strange and looked at me weird when I asked for it hot but it was still decent.Service was pretty slow and they forgot things multiple times, but not unfriendly. Can’t complain too much as it was pretty crowded.Price was good for the value in my opinion. Probably my favorite part about this place.

One of the best spots in Toronto for Cantonese food! Our server, Cindy was attentive and welcoming. She helped us with substitutions for our meal and made our dining experience enjoyable. The Fish Maw and Crab Soup was a great starter. The Sweet and Sour Pork Chops were juicy and tender. The Yin Yang Fried Rice is best for those who love creamy sauces. Lobster was fried perfectly, allowing us to easily remove the meat. Looking forward to the next meal here!

First time here, amazing! Got the $47.99 three item combo. Everything was so yummy and authentic, the soup was the stand out, really reminded me of being in Hong Kong. Also, a lot of Asian restaurants give you minimal service but their staff are actually very friendly and helpful. LOVE IT!

Good service and food. Short wait for a table even though it was packed. Had the roast goose, roast pork, char siu, wontons/sui-kau and tung-choy. All done well and tasty. Decent price for the food.

Consistently solid Cantonese restaurant. While the quality has somewhat dropped after COVID the classic Cantonese dishes and the prices are the reason to keep coming back. The Lobster and Duck combo specials are great deal for groups of three and above. Deep fried Pork intestine is the specialty to get.

Relatively cheap Chinese restaurant with wide variety of Chinese dishes, most coming in medium to large portions. They had a Monday lunch special that serves their soup of the day, three main dishes to choose from, and either a cup of hot coffee or milk tea (Cold milk tea costs +$1.5).The meals I’ve ordered were average but satisfying considering the price.

Food here is good for the price. I usually get beef brisket, beef tendon, soup, fried noodles, lemon chicken and one of the best dishes on the menu is the beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce. The bbq meats are also pretty good such as soya chicken and duck. Soups also good. Ok most of the dishes are good. A must try.
