I would recommend Potential Place to any one with mental health issues. The staff there have a deep understanding of day to day challenges and struggles individuals face in their day to day life. The staff are friendly, understanding, patient, empathetic. I have been a member at Potential Place for quite sometime, I was not an easyclient at times in the past, but the staff there stood by me, understood my struggles and helped me go through my worst and always encouraged me by saying there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. They were right. Today I am a active member working closely with my fellow colleagues making Potential Place a safe environment and a great place to learn different job skills.Thank you guys for bring out the best in me. God bless.

Sadly Clubhouse is a fraction of its former self. They still practise physical distancing when places like restaurants and Calgary Transit do not. Social Recreation has a very limited number of sign-up spots. The website is never updated when it comes to their newsletter, the Challenger. I dont' see the point of comming to eat a meal in solitude (I can do that at home). Attendance is low, and I don't find staff to be very engaging. Many of them hide behind their computer screens. It was not like this when I first joined in 2002.

Really appreciate what this society is doing to help people, and I have a very hard time writing this review as I love the cause and the people in these buildings.But.....But the management is lacking. As a contractor that has done for Potential Place for over 7 years now I have always had issues, and this last event has really got me frustrated enough to write this review.1st problem.Management will call and book emergency plumbing issues, and won’t be on site when our plumbers show up (even though we give a time window and a 30 minute heads up communication of our techs arrival) , so our plumbers have to wait for hours until someone shows up , who has no idea what is going on.Lack of communication. In a digital age we expect communication for both party’s to be instant. I’ve personally had to walk off sites of potential place because management won’t get back to us on approval to go ahead with fixes, they won’t answer their phones/emails/text messages. Extremely difficult to communicate.Getting paid for the work.Have never got paid on time, and always given excuses on payment or straight up ignored after work has been done. All of our company’s invoices state “ payment after work is complete” and it’s always 15-45days or never with these guys.Again it isn’t like me write reviews on corporations that we do business with and have for many years but this is so frustrating. And I hope the owner gets wind and contacts our business to discuss further relations.

Wheelchair accessibleMental health support clubhouse helps those of us living mental health challenges feel like we are needed and part of a community.I wish they had told me about mental health clubhouses when I left the hospital or accessed Alberta mental health services 10 years ago.

This place is good for some people. It could be a lot better.Leadership is lacking. They give misleading information and very different accounts of what kinds of resources they offer, depending who you talk to that day.I found it very distressing and worry for their clients with cognitive impairments.Take notes.Take names.Do not accept excuses.Tried to blame clients for misleading info.I talked to two people. One male. One female. Both full time with their own desks. Neither has an impairment.Tried blaming clients.Shake my head and move on.

This is an incredible place to help people navigating mental health. The people are fabulous. We all have a story some more tainted then others. This is a light for us to have support, be supported, and be supportive to each other as well. It is nice to see how other clubhouses operate. Stay Blessed and stay safe. Thank-you potential place. For the encouragement to keep on, keeping on.
